Player Inactivity Warning - Needs Cautionary Implementation
SurvivorSean replied to BigVern's topic in General Discussion
Perhaps if this was more directed to say an AI contacting dispatch and the player not responding within a couple of minutes? In fact there are times that I wish the AI contacted me because I was distracted with something else in the box. Thanks Sean -
Dispatcher Track Requests not needed?
SurvivorSean replied to Jasonic's topic in Suggestions for improvements
Yeah and that is where things get confusing when the box next door says a certain track number. I'm going to look at that new map as well. Thanks Sean -
That is incredible!

I was going to hold off on this as I think this is being worked on. But just in case I'll mention it. Currently the sheets automatically populate the actual times with the scheduled times. If you go to the check box and right click you do have options but they are not yet functional. They are also currently in Polish for the English build. Thanks Sean

Perhaps a radio volume button would be a nice feature like turning down the radio when you're trying to speak on the phone. Thanks Sean

Yes for all services in that format would be nice. Thanks Sean

Sosnowiec Główny - fell in a pit
SurvivorSean replied to GoldLettuce8526's topic in Bug reporting (multiplayer)
It's Yoda's fault as he used the force 🙂 Head out the tunnel and you'll see him painted against the wall. That's how I met him the first time. Thanks Sean -
I know the safety system saved my behind once when I missed a signal looking at something else in another screen. I forgot about the issues with ghost trains. Not sure if they are simulated or not probably a bug. Thanks Sean

I see what you mean. Thanks Sean

Dispatcher Track Requests not needed?
SurvivorSean replied to Jasonic's topic in Suggestions for improvements
There is a roman numberal I or II on the left side of the platform and then the actual track number visible on the right side of a platform specification. The roman numberal on the train list is hard to see. What I was refering to was a signal box next to you in AI requesting a track and showing up on another. I think the track numbers change but I could be wrong. Thanks Sean -
The only way is to have the substitute signal at a box. Intemediate automatic signals can be passed. Thanks Sean

Good to hear. Thanks Sean

I was in SG box tonight on EN2 and I learned a few things I had not noticed about that 2nd page that others mentioned (I finally see it now). Anyways the only things I've noticed as it was shortly after a reboot is on of the light power moves had a train time of 11am and it was 9:45pm (I thought that was interesting but I was cool with it if that is a feature). Before a player took over it appeared AI at Bezyn was NOT notifying me of incoming traffic. But otherwise traffic flow was constant and very entertaining as I'd come to expect. A few player goof ups including myself reading proper departure times. But other than that it appeared to be smooth. I didn't hear anything around me of anyone complaining of any issues with AI not letting them through. Considering I haven't heard any issues on the forum this evening AI wise perhaps they nailed this one? I'll keep my fingers crossed. Thanks Sean

Also the sequential nature of the reboots I've seen EN2 for example usually fall around 15 minutes past the hour. Thanks Sean

Server Logs & Moderators
SurvivorSean replied to SurvivorSean's topic in Suggestions for improvements
The DS levels would work well for this. That is true for paid players but you would be surprised 🙂 -
I'm pretty sure the Q&A differentiated early access and full release unless that has changed and this is the full release.

I perfer to dispatchin in the dark on the CPU screens. The boards usually require some light.

You can turn the switch on and off

I would say patience they will show up. I've started right inside the big station and had a full run of a couple of hours. It would be nice if we had a full schedule (not station by station but something like what passengers would see or an employee timetable that shows all train movements at all stations. This could help in planning a big run. Thanks Sean

Need To Consider Opening SP Test Earlier

can not enter another players loco
SurvivorSean replied to kadigeN's topic in Bug reporting (multiplayer)
It would be nice to get players out of my face in a box when it's backed up as well 🙂 Only happened to me once but it was quite annoying. Thanks Sean -
Yeah that's a good idea. I know they are looking into a way of making sure the dispatcher lines up the right route or something. But when things do get screwed up to be able to back up I don't think AI are capable at this point. Thanks Sean

Need To Consider Opening SP Test Earlier
SurvivorSean replied to BigVern's topic in General Discussion
I was able to have a full run the other night for the first time. Can be tough on the busier servers. I find right after the servers are reset is a good time as it appears backlog causes the most grief with AI. It's not that AI can't clear it's that they suddenly have too many trains coming and want to honor too many requests (At leat that is my hypothesis). But the first hour or so after a server reset works really well even on the busiest servers. Thanks Sean -
So we are on public servers that at the moment anyone who has a copy of test can access any available position. Despite the annoyance I agree it's good to idiot test these things now. However that being said when it comes down to being out of the testing phase and into early access, I think server logs and moderation will be essential. I know there has been some accusations, assumptions, etc. at certain people sabatoging the servers. This is where logs and moderators can come into play along with a potential scoring access system to have the best quality experience on the servers. I know personally in having Run8 servers the logs were beneficial in finding either trouble issues, and confronting them. I think moderators need to be level minded and not quick to kick people etc. either. Some times these are innocent issues as I've made mistakes in learning as well. Making mistakes is sometimes the only way you learn. But having these tools should make the MP experience better for everyone. Thanks Sean

I was NOT the one who came up with this idea, but I did notice it in the other forum here and I thought it was a great idea. Having people start with the easy stations and work their way up is not only realistic but gives them a purpose. I just received level 2 on the trains the other night and provided that goes towards being able to opearte certain trains I think it's cool. Thanks Sean
