A similar point system used to be in place for TD3. However what should really happen and in the case of TD3 is a seasoned AI driver should know he is being routed the wrong way based on the signals. If they can't stop the train in time they would need to get the dispatcher to perform a move in the opposite direction and do whatever it takes within the signal box to get them back on the proper track. The only disadvantage of this is that an unexperienced driver may not know he is on the wrong track. One way to overcome this is to alert the player once the next ETA updates when passing the box and that should get their attention. Thanks Sean

This was from the official Dev Q&A video 3 months ago. Perhaps it's changed but that is what developer had said then.

SImilar to the ones that are in place on the phone between other dispatchers perhaps. Thanks Sean

Need To Consider Opening SP Test Earlier
SurvivorSean replied to BigVern's topic in General Discussion
SimRail, Railorader (when releasing in 2023), and Run8 (when a suitable DLC drops) are all that I care about now. Yes I'm just Sean & I also frequent Train-Sim Thanks Sean -
Need To Consider Opening SP Test Earlier
SurvivorSean replied to BigVern's topic in General Discussion
I think it's a valid point though Vern. I've been reluctant to drive because I enjoy dispatching as you know. But mainly because I don't want to screw other people or a tight schedule up. My only advice I would give myself is the same I mentioned to you and that is try out the west coast servers in the U.S. as they are not as busy as the east coast. I'm planning to give driving a run tonight myself. The dispatching is getting a bit repetitve and I think I needed a bit of change this evening. Thanks Sean -
My understanding is that the early access version is coming out in January but NOT the full version. At least that is what I got from the Q&A video. Thanks Sean

I noticed some AI trains leaving before the scheduled departure time of some stations last night. Is this a normal procedure in Poland, or something that needs attention? My understanding is cargo trains can leave earlier provided they don't have a scheduled meet. Are cargo trains usually scheduled and must hold as well when scheduled to do so? Thanks Sean

I know right now with inexpreienced players trains are often later (or sometimes very early becasue they blow by stations without waiting). However I've noticed on servers with less players and AI trains are very predictable especially cargo trains. I'm starting to noticed the pattern of the trains and they are pretty much the same every time which leads to things becoming a bit too predictable. Some randomization of train arrivals and perhaps some way of informing boxes ahead of time when a service is running late would help. Also I hope the actual train arrival in dispatching will populate eventually so that we know what trains have or have not gone through. Thanks Sean

Dispatchers can learn on less busy or even dead servers. You'll be surprised how many servers have no player trains. Dispatching is very popular. Using the phone is also a good educational technique and learn from more expreienced dispatchers. I know how to dispatch I just needed some assistance on some of the unique features of Poland. From what I understand the developers are going to have some experience system in play to allow only experienced dispatchers the chance after release. Thanks Sean

Manual for computer equipment (dispatcher)

That is a good one. The only thing I would add to that is make sure you communicate with neighbours especially if they are not AI. It's always nice to know what train is coming. Thanks Sean -
Vern I have my settings all the way down to medium, and it's fine. It still looks pretty good in my opinion but I do remember ultra and it's amazing.

What are freight operations like in Poland?
SurvivorSean replied to SurvivorSean's topic in General Discussion
So on a further note I've noticed the 15 minute layovers for certain cargo trains hourly at Bezen for example. What is the purpose of the layover (to change crews?) and is it normal to have that many trains scheduled hourly? Thanks Sean -
Is there raildriver support? You want to be looking out the window and not at your controls unless you have that IR thing. Generally speaking you get custom to the controls. I just thought I'd add my 2 cents though I haven't run many trains at this time and play in the signal boxes instead. Run8 has a nice option where the information can cycle by keypresses so that you have the info you most desire while keeping your eye on the road. In reality lights that come on or other things that need your attention are usually a perephial vision thing. This is why the alerter is right by the windshield to get your attention when the red lights come on. Thanks Sean

Interesting. Well I'm looking forward to whatever is available. Thanks Sean -
I had to dial down to medium graphics as I'm a mid range system and I had too much blur when moving around. But even at medium the graphics look amazing. These shots are great by the way. This is an amazing sim. Thanks Sean

You can use the ... button in the upper right corner of the post. I've edited my posts before. Perhaps there is a time limit on it. Thanks Sean

With all the yard tracks and some industries I've noticed on the maps, I'm curious what operations are like in Poland. I don't think some things are implemented quite yet or at least it doesn't seem to be (which is perfectly fine). In North Americal there is less passenger and more freight, I take it is the opposite here from my understanding even before the sim. I'm curious about shunting operations and other things and can we expect to see them eventually in the sim. Considering there are shunting signals (I'm sure this is used for passenger service splits etc. as well) I imagine it's something we will eventually see. Thanks Sean

Yeah I drove a bit at night. Of course I'm in the signal boxes the most. For those not aware you CAN turn the lights off in the box to see trains better. Though on boxes that use the big board and not the comuter you'll need a light to read certain things on the board. Light status is also visible from outside at night which is cool for passing trains. Thanks Sean

Not a problem guys. Keep up the good work I'm just happy to be able to help in the test! Thanks Sean

Thanks. I heard there was an online one coming as well. Thanks Sean
