That is not how compressor works. A compressor is an audio tool used to control the volume, balance, and dynamic range of a sound. It works by automatically reducing the volume of the loudest parts and boosting the quieter parts, resulting in a more even, consistent, and punchy audio signal. -

I am also impressed about the details of the sound in this game. But sadly I have to add something to the "future development": Be careful! Latest months of playing I have started to experience tinnitus problems. And of course this could be my own fault, aging etc... ... what I want to say is that: Any attempt in improving sound, please use some kind of compressors on that final output. Ex: If adding 70 different sound sources (just because being "the perfect" sim), there is always a risk that any of them is "to loud", and actually not realistic, and just making strain on your ear. So I am not thinking this kind of filtering/tuning will take a way any realism, but if NOT being careful, we all could end up with tinnitus, just "wanting to much" 🙂 (I will start a separate thread with a more exact example what I mean) (And yes: I have tried lowering the volume 😁) -

SimRail Sneak Peek
This week will probably be a little less spectacular for you. You should all already be familiar with the CargoUnit Traxx E186-929. Now we are adding the two remaining representatives: E186-928 and E186-930. Of course, just like E186-134, all locomotive designs have been redesigned and brought up to a better standard overall, especially in terms of fonts and lettering. You are already familiar with E186-929. Its lettering and fonts have been revised, and the structures on the locomotive side have been improved, with some textures also being enhanced. By comparison, E186-928 has the same design, but at some point the locomotive number on the front was covered over, so it is now only faintly visible through the sticker. And then there is E186-930, which stands out because the locomotive number is written slightly differently on both sides of the locomotive. All three locomotives will operate in a mix of freight and passenger services. Even though these three are not that special, I think it increases loco diversity ingame. Stay tuned for next weeks sneak peek, it will show other and also new designs.- 6

Significant Dispatcher Progress Loss
One thing you can do is track the time for the rest and use an achievement unlocker tool when you reach full time on all stations, I believe getting the time back will be hard. This method is something i have to do due to running on two different computers. -
