Cool things you have noticed in SimRail
SurvivorSean replied to Gazz292's topic in General Discussion
I'll have to find it again. Perhaps Monday. -
I noticed 1 car doing that last night under the bridge at night. BTW the board is Benzin as far as I'm aware. Lazy LC has a few more lines. Thanks Sean

Options in sim for dispatcher mode
SurvivorSean replied to TobiasM0815's topic in Suggestions for improvements
I'm not sure if the block numbers are realistic either. When the trains enter the station and are occupying blocks the train number shows which counts. The big thing that needs to take place is the recording of time on the train sheet. Right now if you right mouse click on the check marks they are 1) in polish for English users 2) even when you click them they don't do anything. The reason why I point this out is it's very important for a dispatcher to know what trains have arrive and departed from his territory. I imagine it's a feature simply not implemented yet which for now is ok and mousing over is a good substitute. Otherwise I don't think the boxes were realistic and mouse overs may actually be more accurate on some systems. Ideally your main form of information is 1) the train sheet 2) the other boxes next to you notifying you when a train has departed so you can prepare accordingly. Thanks Sean -
As well as the progrmmers and the team for listening and updating. I think the biggest comparison is this team seems very dedicated. Yes there are going to be issues it's real early but this is worthy of an early access title right now as in many ways it's simply one of the best sims out there. When I first heard of this earlier this year I noticed all the cool features and I thought well that looks cool but can it feel real. This past week has shown me this is very real and I'm glad to be here for the ride. It's the main fixture right now on my YouTube channel and I thank all the new subscribers and those from Poland who have joined in the chat to help me and others out. I sincerely hope this team gets rewarded with plenty of buys for all their hard word very very soon. Thanks Sean

Wow that is very impressive! Nice work can't wait to try that out. Thanks Sean

Need To Consider Opening SP Test Earlier
SurvivorSean replied to BigVern's topic in General Discussion
This is by far already the best European sim for what i'm looking for. I know people talk about Zusi 3 but eye candy as well as what appears form this Canadian to be really good physics and operations could easily be the best European train simulator. Run8 still holds me for the best North American simulator. TSW doesn't cut it for either in my opinion. Thanks Sean -

I noticed Yoda. Seriously I shared the picture on the Steam page. Not sure how I snd it over here. Thanks Sean -
I don't recognise the alias but I believe you. I know I've had many from Europe and all over the world on my servers. South America, Austrailia, New Zeland, and Asia as well. I had my first full passenger run tonight which was nice to accomplish. Thanks Sean

Ummm what happens when that happens??? We were having issues and I did go up to the tower and sat down and was stuck. I simply got out to the main menu because I couldn't do anything. Is that a bug that I should know about that causes isssues? Thanks Sean

How to UNSTUCK traffic from AI stations.
SurvivorSean replied to Záhorácká's topic in General Discussion
Someone tried derailing the trains today.... -
Keep trying different services you'll find many that are clear and can give you a good run.

Need To Consider Opening SP Test Earlier
SurvivorSean replied to BigVern's topic in General Discussion
Well single player can only differ with the time of day as far as repetiveness if that is what works for some. I know the weather is supposed to be dynamic (I'm not sure what it's doing right now other than raining every now and then). So if you like varying light conditions that works fine. If you schedule it around a cargo or actually run the cargo that will add some variance as well. Still my point is eventually like other single player things it will become repetitive unless random factors come into play that might require different signal situations etc. Thanks Sean -
Yeah looks like they are down again. Checking to see if there is an update.

I like localized traffic better. The one thing I could not stand on certain Run8 servers was the constant "hey how's it going" by everyone on the server when someone showed up. Perhaps as an option create a raido channel that has full system availability (or even an option within the radio interface). I certainly don't want this to become a social club like some servers. Thanks Sean

Yes they have met well beyond my expectations of replying to issues etc. There have been lots of issues that popped up this past week some potentially involving trolls on serves. With daily updates already (and you can see the logs now here including Steam) they seem to be very active in both the community and getting stuff done. Thanks Sean

Dispatcher Bug after Update
SurvivorSean replied to debiantippse's topic in Bug reporting (multiplayer)
It only takes 20 minutes at most for me. This has been resolved as I was on the servers last night. Thanks Sean -
This has been resolved in latest patch. MP is the only option available as single player will only be available to test in a few days.

Any chance to trigger a Sever Reset or train removal?
SurvivorSean replied to PapaCharlie's topic in General Discussion
My guess is someone put a shunting signal or sub signal (I think I have the right name) and it was likely deliberate 😞 As a former long time server host for Run8 since before day 1 I always had the logs to look back on. So I knew when a client was deliberately trying to sabatoge the server. I'm hoping this is just an AI bug but I'm afraid that we've had some issues reported by quite a few now perhaps it's just a handful of people but many people have seen this happening. If you see it simply report it (you will see their user names if it happens to you or your in the area). I suspect they are doing this to AI trains. As another preventative measure AI trains (and players) need to be aware when being routed wrong. Right now an AI train will not object to being routed down the wrong track. The signal boxes do have the technology to allow a reverse move. I'm going to offer some suggstions this morning and see what sticks. Thanks Sean -
I thought I already replied to this but just in case. Hats off to this team and their attentiveness to the details as well as the community noticing issues and fixing them as rapidly as they can. I'm even seeing ideas get pushed into the sim which is amazing at this stage so close to release. As I said I'm more of a North American freight kind of person but I'm starting to really enjoy running in Poland 🙂 Thanks Sean
-
You guys are awesome! The amount of stuff I'm seeing fixed shortly after reported is amazing. Honestly I'm more of a North American freight guy, but this kind of dedication and the product you have here has really made me a fan of the railroad on the other side of the ocean. Thanks Sean

Rainy Glass White Shimmering Quick Fix
SurvivorSean replied to TheShotte's topic in General Discussion
This has been fixed for me since yesterday's update. We now see rain and the shimmering effect is gone. My settings are currently default medium though I'm tempted to try and raise them a bit since this team is hard at work listening to the issues and requests then implementing solutions. Thanks Sean -
BTW I'm seeing the rain and puddles now since the latest update. Rain sounds more like a leaky faucet but the effect looks really cool especially with better graphics settings like these. Thanks Sean

The Devs are already answering tons of questions and releasing daily updates. They tend to focus more on the bugs and ideas sections. Perhaps posting there will help as they have to approve everything before it is allowed to show up then they flag it. I have a hard enough time myself keeping up with this forum on a daily basis. My only guess is the playtest is going to become obsolete when this is released and they don't want anything on the cloud to allow progression. I don't think they can force it off your system but I'm not sure how Steam works as I've never been part of a prerelease trial before on Steam. Thanks Sean
