This is the problem we are all having. The Developers have not responded directly other than via the bot response and categorising the issue as “Open Sim”. Some additional info from them would be appreciated, particularly as they saw fit to push the feature into the main game even knowing after 16/01 it was broken.
-
Posted in MP but equally applicable to SP, I guess. Just wondered if anyone from the development or publisher team could post an update on progress with either of the above routes, which were mooted at one time to be in development. Not sure who was doing the German route but I believe Searchlight Simulations, who previously worked on content for DTG's Train Sim Classic, were involved with the American route. However it's all gone very quiet. Are these still regarded as "live" projects or have they fallen by the wayside (like the infamous Class 104 DMU for TSW did!)?

Bump. Any more news on these titles, please?
-
Good work Wocka. Hopefully the devs are looking into this urgently. Don’t want to be negative but it should never have been ported across to the main game when patently not working and this known since 16/01.
-
Yes this is quite disappointing in a way. The issues with the save game were reported after the 16/01 beta update broke things so rather surprised they carried through into the release candidate. We expect that kind of thing from DTG, not SimKol!

Sorry to post in English here but can confirm loading the save game still fails after the VD with pop up error box as described. And scenarios on Warsaw to Katowice still won’t save.

Sorry to update/report, still getting this error message playing the main game latest version. The VD loads but the train fails with the Unable to load route or similar message. So it looks as if the save game is still broken in that respect.

How Do I Turn Off The Flashlight/Torch?
BigVern replied to BigVern's topic in General Discussion [Singleplayer]
Thank you kind Sir! -
Driving the EN71 I somehow have light from the driver, as if pointing a flashlight or torch, reflecting back off the cab and windscreen. Any idea how I can get rid of this as I can't find anything listed in the key commands?

I think there may still be issues trying to save games on the original Warsaw to Katowice route scenarios. Tried to save a run and I didn’t get the Saved Successfully message in the box. When I went back to Main Menu then tried to load the save, there were none listed. Also worth noting that saves prior to the update don’t seem compatible with the latest version. Anyhow now running a scenario from the Lodz route and will see how that goes. Hopefully, any SP scenarios that come with the CD 163 will be save game compatible, regardless of which route stretch they are on.
-
Hopefully that means if we save a run this evening, can resume tomorrow. Not sure why a SP save wouldn’t be stored locally though.

Excellent!

That's interesting then. I've just switched back to the main and will test it later on (wife about to kick me off the PC!).
-
Think I'm going to switch back to the main branch for now. I tried to load a save game just now in SP Beta and still getting the error box popping up. Hopefully once the CD 163 is out they will revisit the beta.

With the CD 163 set to release on Sunday, was wondering whether it is worth changing back from running the SP Beta to the main game path? How much will it get to do in the beta version plus we only have the one MP server.
-
Steam just grabbed a 1.4Gb update. Nothing in the Announcements about whether this is an update to the main version or the SP beta (which I'm currently running) or what issues have actually been addressed. Any chance the devs could update and provide a change list, please?

(What does it take to) Getting banned
BigVern replied to Rattie's topic in General Discussion [Multiplayer]
The first rule of Fight Club... applies! I think generally so long as you act in a mature and responsible manner, for most of us there's nothing to worry about. Drive your train sensibly and try to avoid passing a signal at red. Don't abandon your train when it should be moving, though I think these days the bot steps in fairly quickly. Don't mess players about if you're signalling and if you want to learn a particular signalbox, pick one of the dead servers to do it (another reason why we need to be able to do signalling in SP). Also I think, don't abuse the chat feature, -
It's a pity they can't just roll back to the pre 16/01 SP beta version, while trying to identify what has gone wrong. Otherwise it negates the whole point of having the beta version for us to test in the first place, if it's not updated or fixed in a timely manner. I know they are probably juggling this with sorting out initial issues with the Xbox version and finalising the CD 163 for next week but it would be good if the matter got some priority.

Thanks for making my report public. I'm guessing the small update today did not address this issue - well when I tried to load a previously saved game the problem still persisted.
-
Thank you, will give that a try pending the devs fixing the 16/01 glitch! Edit: Didn't work. I either got the same pop up box error message, or on the Lodz route it simply restarted the scenario.
-
Yes I have submitted a bug report but it has yet to appear in the Bug Forum. The VD is loading oaky but once the train loads you get a pop up box with random error message on top of the pause menu, once you click it get thrown back to the main menu. Hopefully the guys will be back at work tomorrow and get it sorted but rather frustrating when we hoped it would be possible to really get going in SP mode.

Topic in Bug Report section has to be moderated?
BigVern replied to taoroot's topic in General Discussion [Singleplayer]
I can see why they do this but the delay in approval means the bug report is hidden from other players until it becomes visible. I posted yesterday re the 16/01 SP beta update now causing save games to fail to load displaying various error messages, but it has yet to appear publicly. I appreciate it's not 24/7 support and the guys have loads to do but at least having the details out there could elicit whether others have encountered the same issue. -
Still waiting for this to be published but in the meantime another test run has ended in a failed load. I had read elsewhere there might have been a workaround saving the game with the train stationary, but running a Regional service with the EN57 on the Lodz route generated this error. Also please note I was unable to save the game until at least 20 minutes into the run, with the "Processing Routes" error message. At this time further testing seems pointless until the SP beta gets another update or is rolled back to the pre 16/01 update which was not giving these errors.
-
Since the 16/01 update... Two screen dumps uploaded. SR Load Error.jpg was trying to load a game saved yesterday evening in the previous version. SR Load Error 2.jpg was after starting then saving a fresh run on the Lodz route this evening in the latest beta. This has somewhat dampened my confidence in the save game system which seemed to be working okay before this update today.

Running the SP beta, Steam currently downloading and installing (slowly) a 1.6Gb update. Any idea what this addresses as there are no change notes to accompany the download. It seems to be doing a lot of overwriting. Edit: It looks like todays update invalidated the save file or the environment it loads into. While the "VD" loaded correctly when the train cab spawned I got an error message and dumped back to the menu.
