native controller support (and the lack thereof)
Rattie replied to Rattie's topic in General Discussion [Multiplayer]
Amazing! Something to look forward to. And thank you for sharing this post I so clearly missed 馃檪 -
I don't know about you. But playing/driving with mouse and keyboards really breaks the immersion for me. It works, but I am really longing for native controller support, so that, eg, the TSC-X controller, or even custom built controllers, can interact with SimRail like a joystick with axis and buttons. Does anyone know if that is something that may come at a later time? And maybe also what kind timeframe we are looking at? Perhaps one of devs is willing to shed a little light on this? In my humble opinion, physical controls is really what is able to transform the whole experience from playing a game, to a convincing situation of driving a train. Don't get me wrong. I love SimRail. I just advocate for more immersiveness. Here is to hoping. 馃檪

In the name of immersion, the CCTV feels like something that could use a rework. Especially the option to watch the livefeed, without having to click the monitor first. Right now they just show static logo. That would make it possible to check the situation at a glance, and also be more inline on how it works in real life. Since the monitor only shows one feed at a time, giving the player a few options would be super nice. For example: -- let the monitor cycle through the feeds -- allow to show multiple feeds in grid -- maybe have more than 1 monitor Also consider putting a small control panel next to the CCTV monitor(s) to quickly change settings line cycle duration, number of feeds, and open/close barriers where this is applicable

There are no vehicles or pedestrians at railroad crossing
Rattie replied to 鑳搁拡's topic in General Discussion [Singleplayer]
Or maybe as part of ingame trainspotting. That could be quite appealing for situations where you don't necessarily want to be "on duty" but still wish to interact with the game. Boarding and riding the trains could definitely be a fun aspect too. In multiplayer gameplay, it would also give the game a sense of purpose, if you could ride player driven trains. **Originally answered as if it was a multiplayer thread. Edited to better fit. My answer is mostly the same 馃檪 -
I am mostly driving the ED250 Pendolino on INT1, where I have started to observe a frustrating problem/issue, regarding level crossing not being secured by the time you pass the appropriate signal, or the signal gets lit at the very last moment. Most of the time this results in an ETCS emergency braking, raking in serious speed penalties, but not always. Sometimes I have been hard on the brakes, and the ETCS computer still give full movement authorisation, essentially ignoring the alleged unsecure crossing. In that case I can simply speed up again. When the level crossing is not secure, the signal is always off. I have never experience the use of the two horizontal yellow light aspect, which would be more fitting in my opinion. This problem can potentially happen anywhere on the line. But the line between Sprowa and Psary is particularly problematic, and passing this section without any level crossing issues, feels like winning the lottery. I have added the log of my latest run, which I stopped short after experiencing yet another level crossing issue on the aforementioned section. It also adds insult to injury, that you cannot brake hard enough to avoid penalty points. Even if you apply the emergency brake after passing the "crossing ahead" markers. The ED250 is more than capable of stopping long before the crossing, so a more realistic / less strict stopping distance would be appreciated! SimRail_log_2026-07-27_13-20-53.txt

This is truly impressive, and very useful too!

When I try to update the EDR on some stations after dispatching a train, the next station over has already updated the EDR automatically before the train has barely passed the exit signal, making its way onto the main line. In other words, long before the train has even made it there. In some instances, that is done even while the train has not even left the station that I am currently managing.

As a dispatcher, I use text chat exclusively when communicating with a human player at a neighboring station. In real life you wouldn't have that option, and would rely on calling them instead. But I am under the impression that is highly discouraged. It could however bring an element of realism to the gameplay, if used. That made me wonder: what is your take on being called, when dispatching trains? Would you be okay with it? Or would it break your work flow? Please post your comments. I am genuinely curious to know your opinions on this. 馃檪

I sometime hear about people (on this forum) getting banned from the game / the game server. Sometimes for a limited amount of time. And in other cases permanently. Assuming people are playing the game as it was intended, what does it (actually) take to get banned? What are the criterias? I failed finding these, so I am keen to know. I have *touch wood* never had to experience this, despite I have been making occasional kock-ups (misspelled on purpose). I am of course forever grateful that the moderators have been this lenient on me... And I actually do my best to avoid mistakes. Although I am only human... 馃

I am puzzled on how to resolve this. Maybe there is no solution. Train 324240 has stopped at the siding of track 1. The problem is, it wants to go to Tunel (the station on the right), but it cannot be routed there, because the switches ahead cannot accommodate sending it back on to the right track (track 2). Tunel as well will not allow it being sent on the left track (track 1). How can this be resolved? This was seen at 23:00. You can see the timestamp on the picture. I did see the exact situation earlier today. I decided to wait for a server reset, but it does not appear to have been fixed by this? Is this going to be stuck there indefinitely?

I mainly play on INT-1, but I have also seen this on INT-2, and INT-9, and it happens in any signal box I have doing so far. This let me to believe this issue is universal. When I am in dispatcher mode, and I attempt to look around (in particular around the domino panel) the mouse curser is not guaranteed to stay in place. Instead it will jump to a new location on the board, often to a random button, which then activates unintentionally. I have seen situations where this leads to a signal being revoked, a switch had been thrown. This time, when I played at Raciborowice, the dKO (arrival override) was activated. In turn this prevent the use of the KO (lock end button). Even if I deliberately move the mouse curser far away from the board, when looking around, this can still happen. And it causes quite some frustrations, when the simulation makes you look less competent. I have attached the log, in case that is of any use. SimRail_log_2025-11-29_14-58-39.txt

Linelock between Ga艂kow茅k and 艁贸d藕 Andrzej贸w
Rattie replied to Rattie's topic in General Discussion [Multiplayer]
Ah that makes a lot a sense. I'll give it a try tomorrow, and let you know the effectiveness 馃憤 -
I had the brilliant idea to let a high speed train overtake a slower regional/commuter train on the left track between Ga艂kow茅k, and the remotely controlled 艁贸d藕 Andrzej贸w. So I released the linelock between the two the stations, and attempted to change line lock directions to facilitate left track traffic. But failed doing so. Adding insult to injury, I now also couldn't reinstate the normal line direction / figure out how to accept the linelock change. What could I have overlooked? Shouldn't I not be able to control the linelock between these two stations, since I control them both? I look forward to any guidance on this 馃檪

Thank you so much for that explanation. I still have a lot to learn 馃槄
