Currently, the HUD element for the brake pipe in the lower right shows 0 % for 5 bar (running) and 100 % for 0 bar (emergency brake), with everything in between simply linear. I understand that this is done in the name of abstracting away the real-world technical details and trying to present a uniform interface. However, I don’t think it’s doing a good job at that currently. Full service braking (3.5 bar) is 30 %. The rest of the scale is almost irrelevant in practice. This is weird. I think the HUD should either: Use percentage to represent pressure, but the correct way round: 100 % for 5 bar and 0 % for 0 bar. This would still leave a lot of the scale dead (full service at 70 %), but it would at least clear up misunderstandings about ‘charging’ and ‘discharging’ the brake line. Show actual brake line pressure, with a number in whatever pressure unit is sensible (bar, (k/M)Pa, psi, …). Show a percentage of service braking, with 0 % = running (5 bar), 100 % = full service brake (3.5 bar). For emergency braking, display special text, e.g. ‘> 100 %’ or ‘MAX’ or ‘SOS’. For 1. and 2., the coloured bar indicator should have a visual hint as to where full service brake lies on the scale. For all options, it should also change colour for emergency brake.

Electrodynamic brake on the Traxx is limited to 150 kN in total. On a 600 t train, that yields a deceleration of 150,000 N / 600,000 kg = 0.25 m/s². Assuming uniform deceleration over the entire speed range, starting from 140 km/h, it will take 155 seconds to come to a standstill, and the train will have covered 1,512 metres by then. However, in practice, overhead current/electrical power is limited, so brake force will be much reduced at higher speeds. Bearing that in mind, 2–3 kilometres does seem like an entirely reasonable estimate.

Yeah, that’s rubbish. Train consists shouldn’t be player-pickable in multiplayer, or at least players should only be able to choose between a few predetermined options for the particular service. -

I do think static decorative vehicles would improve realism and immersion, but also I agree that performance may be an issue, so I think they could simply be made optional, with a setting to turn them off. -

As far as I know, departure notification should be given: for a stopping train: when the train has started moving after its stop for a crossing train: when the train crosses the middle of the station (or junction/crossover) For signal boxes controlling multiple posts (with multiple timetables), like Sosnowiec Główny, that goes for the respective last post the train runs through. That means a train that stops at Sosnowiec Główny should be announced to Katowice Zawodzie not when it starts moving from the platform, but when it passes the junction from Sosnowiec Południowy. Making sure a train is complete by checking the tail signal a) is not necessary if there is a working track occupancy detection system, b) is a condition for notifying the previous dispatcher of arrival, not for notifying the next dispatcher of departure. -
With render distance increased from 500 m to 808 m, it works. I can then even go into settings and reduce render distance back down, and I can keep playing. That’s only a workaround, though, and I believe if the game offers me the choice to have a render distance as low as 500 m, it should not depend on a higher value for all content to be playable.

Hardware: AMD Ryzen 5300U APU, 16 GB RAM – System: Ubuntu 22.04.2 LTS, Linux 5.19 x86_64 – Drivers: Proton 7.0-6, RADV Mesa 22.2. Every time I try to play as dispatcher in Włoszczowa Północ, I spawn in the middle of the tracks instead of inside the signal box: I cannot move, I cannot look around, and I cannot press 1 to teleport me to the signal box. This has made Włoszczowa Północ unplayable for me.

Olszamowice and Pilichowice, yes. Otherwise both are boring. Maybe not Opoczno Południe, though, that one is fine as it is. Knapówka and Psary would be nice if they could be merged, though. At least with the current timetable. -
There’s a track plan on Semaforek (see the page linked above by ErsGT) dated 2015, which has the 130 km/h points.

Hmmm. Is Grodzisk Mazowiecki correct for SimRail? I just drove a 16xxx over 58, 60, 62, 65, and I could not see that ‘13’ on M1. (Then again, I didn’t check the HUD, so I might’ve simply missed it.)

No, the two needles are the target pressure and actual pressure. The main reservoir has an electronic gauge on the left display.

This happened on DE2 in Olszamowice: The 223034 and the selected 223036 have arrival times at :25 past the hour, 11 minutes of layover, then departure at :25 past the hour. With 11 minutes layover, I’d expect a departure at :36 or arrival at :14; with arrival and departure both at :25, I’d expect the ‘layover’ and ‘stop type’ to be 0 and empty respectively.

Interesting. That’s something you can’t do on German mechanical signal boxes! Signals can’t be moved without a locked route, and after a route is locked and the associated signal has been cleared and reset to danger, it cannot be cleared again; the route has to be released and re-locked first. -

The lack of GSM-R in the simulator is due to the lack of GSM-R in Poland in reality. Also I think that function is probably specific to the UK implementation of GSM-R.
