  1. Upvote. Dispatcher needs localisation before full release if not before. Even better an offline sandbox training module. Unlike Simsig etc. you can't pause to work things out in a real time MP environment. Currently it's like Vatsim throwing a rookie controller into Heathrow or JFK.
  2. Caught your first video clip Sean, very useful. As I posted in the GD section, some English localisation and a sandbox training module would be useful for those who want to try dispatching.
  3. What you need is for the 3 and 9 keys to operate as a graduated movement between Initial and Full Service rather than stepping all the way. That's how the brake keys work in Run 8, TSW etc. where self lapping brakes are in use.
  4. I was watching one of Sean's videos earlier and it looks like signaller mode really throws you in the deep end with no training and most of the interface in Polish. I would suggest there needs to be some sort of sandbox training module where players can at least learn the basics before jumping in. Unlike SimSig or the other signalling games, in MP you can't pause to look at a manual or run the Polish through Google Translate. The interface needs to be fully localised or at least English, German and maybe French or Spanish to cover most users.
  5. Lazy as in the location. Working a freight train got stuck at a red signal 3 minutes into the session and stood there for 40 minutes until quitting. Very pleasant chatting to everyone but somewhat frustrating both from the gameplay and testing point of view. We can't test the sim sat at a red signal for ages.
  6. As per the question - so far all the runs I've done have been in broad daylight and if anything things are a little too bright - almost as severe as the unmodded eye adaptation DTG introduced with TSW3. But TSW3 also suffers from pitch black nights with little ambient light or light pollution in built up areas. That combined with ineffective headlights makes night driving rather tedious. Hopefully SimRail will do it better.
  7. I didn't see this before suggesting the same thing. Will certainly be essential if/when people start building routes with steeper inclines than the relatively flat default one.
  8. I think EN02 and EN06 are the best bets at present. I wonder if the stuck trains are due to AI not taking back over if you have to leave the session?
  9. Well after a couple of abortive attempts I finally managed two successful runs, one on the EN02 and another on the EN07 server. So it does look as if the connection problem is at the server end. Maybe something needs tweaking.
  10. I think to be honest at this point we need some input from the devs, rather than arguing amongst ourselves. If there is indeed a graduated or stepped brake on the EU07 between initial and full service then we need to have a keyboard option to use it. That also again comes back to having some sort of visual cue as to how far along the travel you are, which isn't just the brake handle. My hands are affected by neuropathy which means it's preferable to use the keyboard rather than the mouse.
  11. The fact is you either need a stepped brake with several stages between initial and full service, or variable by having an apply/lap/release system. Unless of course the real EU07 *is* set up like that, in which case hang on to your hats if standing up or drinking a cup of coffee and the driver goes into full service...
  12. I already checked those and Simrail is ticked for access. But I will double check, just to be sure.
  13. A couple of minutes later... Game started, select train on English Driver Only session. Server termination message followed a few moments later putting me in the cab of the EN96 with radio beeping frantically. However once again, nothing is working - rear pantograph is showing raised but external view shows it's not. I tried lowering and raising but no effect again, same with front pantograph. Shut the cab down (apart from battery as I can't find the switch) and restart but still nothing. I give up with this, not worth the hassle in its current release. I'll try again in a couple of weeks when single player is unlocked.
  14. Okay files verified, let's see what happens.
  15. Again I would disagree that TSW3 is an arcade game... It's actually pretty good if you choose the right routes and content (mainly the German stuff). However a better comparison might be Run 8 where you generally have a good view of the gauges to see how much brake you've put on and the application is progressive rather than stepped. Also what isn't helping is the EU07 seems to lack a lapped position in conjunction with full service (mentioned in another thread but no comment from the devs) which means you are getting either very little braking from the initial application or an uncontrolled surge to full service with nothing in between.
  16. Well as this stage is about feedback to the devs I must respectfully disagree and request it is something I would like to see as an option. When you're focused on braking down for a signal or station stop the last thing I want to be doing is looking at the handle or trying to hover your mouse over it. Or it could be a simple tickertape message which flashes momentarily on the screen, as in TSW, to tell you what position the handle is in. It's something I would like to see so while respecting your counterpoint please don't dismiss my opinion.
  17. We seem to be missing a lap position between initial and full service. Also as good a place to repeat I think we need an indication of the brake handle (or combined power handle) on the actual HUD so don't need to keep hovering the mouse over the actual lever.
  18. No my first experiences are not really selling this to me, I'm afraid to say. @Jason - I'll try that later on this evening.
  19. I have been getting this all the time. Sometimes you get another loading sequence after pressing okay, then Esc after the "interruption" screen, but when I sat in the loco couldn't get anything to work despite switches etc being on. On a hunch I checked my firewall settings and SimRail already ticked, so not that. Over to the devs on this one.
  20. To be honest with this and now the game not starting at all after the update, think I will give it a miss for a couple of weeks until a better build emerges.
  21. Steam just finished the update but when I try to launch from the desktop item or within Steam, nothing happening. Anyone else encountered this? Not my PC as just started TSW3 with no issues.
  22. I am currently having the same issue here. Tried both the EMU and EU07. Places me in the cab under autopilot with train stationary. Take the train out of AI control, everything is shown "on" but the pantographs are not raised. Toggling the switches has no effect, they stay down. I tried shutting down the cab and battery then switching on, following the procedure in the EU07 guide. Still can't get the pantograph(s) to raise. The only factor might be prior to the run starting I had the server disconnected message each time, but it then loaded with a message that the session was interrupted. However I can escape from that screen into the cab where, as noted above, nothing is working. Very frustrating!
  23. If you are taking over on the move, game should have the radio already on (IMHO) to avoid this.
  24. Check your loco (straight) brake hasn't applied. I couldn't get power back just now and for some reason it had gone to 100%. IMHO we need an extra section on the HUD showing the actual brake handle positions. Also how do you lap the brakes on the EU07, either initial or full service?
  25. All good now, might have been my firewall although SimRail was showing enabled. Anyhow good experience, it's still a bit rough around the edges but loads of potential. Probably need to start with something easier than the EU07. Biggest issue with the test I can see really is AI signaller quiting out and everything stood at red signals. The radio button does nothing.
