  1. That might be a good solution as irl it only really lights up the center of the table Excuse the quality, i only had a potato at hand 😆
  2. Your ingenuity and creativity is amazing. Besides being useful, it also looks great aestethically Also your workshop is like every man's dream 😁
  3. I read the wiki article and that's not their only job, at least here in Hungary Here, they are called car inspectors and their job is much much more than that. They are responsible for checking and making sure that every mechanical part of railcars are in good conditon and safe to run, including correct coupling. And for the tapping, yes they check the 'ring' of the wheels to listen for cracks or loose steel tires but another very important task is the brake check. Older cars are equpped with brake shoes that press up against the tread of the wheel and they check both the braking and released state of the shoes by trying to move them or tapping the brake shoe holder (don't know its name in english) Newer cars have disk brakes so of course they aren't gonna duck in and hammer the disk or the pads but instead there are little screens (and often brake cylinder pressure gauges) on the side that they must check during brake check. They might also have to check the continuity of the EP brake cables and the operation of magnetic brakes. Given the versatile job they have and all the needed animations, i don't think the devs will work on something like this. Though yes, doing actual brake checks and car inspections before departure would add some good immersion I also read a joke about it some time ago A man sees a wheeltapper tapping on the wheels with his hammer on a station. He goes up and asks why they do that. The tapper doesn't respond and keeps working. He asks the tapper once again, why is he tapping the wheels. Again, the worker doesn't respond. The man leaves him be and asks another wheeltapper that why are they tapping the wheels with the hammers. He responds: We check the integrity of the wheels using its sound. You know when a wheel is cracked, it doesn't have that nice ring and the car must be taken out of service. -Ahh i understand now. Then why could your colleague not tell me this when i asked him? -Oh him? He's deaf Edit: Forgot to add that the rings on their hammers are spare seals for air hoses to replace quickly on the run their rank insignia 😁
  4. Thanks. I in fact have an RTX and iirc it's set to DLSS but i'll check around the settings when i get to it Though my monitor is 1080p so might be that. I mean it's good but some screens here look smoother than a fresh box of butter
  5. How do some of you guys get such smooth anti aliasing?
  6. High voltage pillars are placed on top of eachother at the Niedzwiedz end of the station A break in the overhead wire at the platform roof I also wanted to report the high viewpoint in the office and the missing platform end collision but those were reported already
  7. The new snow effect while looks good at day, stays a bright glowing white at night hindering visibility
  8. I love this new foggy winter weather
  9. Ah yes Telling bye to grodzisk dispatch as i'm rolling out as he cleared me before leaving Going 60 or 100 and spotting the red, full emergency, and as i'm about to stop, ai sets the signal again lol
  10. As Gazz said The sim really, really shines at multiplayer As even the dispatchers are players (well most of the time) with them operating the signalling system and organizing traffic themselves, not to mention the other drivers whom you can have horn and light battles with, or you can get off and have a walk together or even walk into the dispatch office to scare the soul out of the dispatcher, it truly feels lively. The content might not be much yet but the sim delivers what it has greatly. I mean irl it's not much different. You get license for a handful of trains/locs and some railway lines and you'll keep driving on them over and over again, yet no day is like the other - just like multiplayer
  11. I thought it'll be a cool shot Until I saw some audis having sexy time again in that crossing 😆
  12. Counting the distance markers on the pylons is easier anyways 😁
  13. Yeah like, that's what makes freight hauling realistic. Red signal watching simulator 😆 Yes, i usually tell them to leave and take another train then as the server is full of other ones to drive
  14. I agree with both of you But sometimes i gotta tell the really-wanna-go-guy that no, you are spending your 30 min pt here cause traffic is getting heavy. They usually leave after that. The chill ones (like me or Perks) go get a drink, some snacks, take a toilet break, etc The only times i ask if i can go sooner as a driver is when it's like my last or second to last station so that i can finish off the trip Sometimes though i just don't have much time and i wanna drive as much as i can. But usually i just leave if it's a long pt and try to not pester the dispatcher
  15. As the title says, there's some glitch on the N9 repeater's signal face I haven't played in a long time and this was my first time arriving in Katowice since but haven't seen other reports like this Edit: since then i've also noticed this on signal M3
  16. Oh 💩 So it was a simple yet major error that i just overlooked the destination in the timetable So didn't just make the other driver mad but the passengers too Well that clears it all up then 😆 Well in my defense, it was my first time playing DGZ and i was still trying to wrap my head around it Thanks, i'll know better next time
  17. I was trying to let an intercity overtake a local passenger train from Dąbrówa Górnicza Ząbkowice to Dąbrowa Górnicza using the left track. Per the beautiful paint art I made: 1. pressed the button to allow outbound traffic on left track 2. cleared the signal allowing exit to the left track 3. cleared the train from signal N4 4. the route was locked, signal cleared, few seconds later it was cancelled by server Now since it's just a 2 track line, both tracks lead to DG where dispatch can divert trains back and forth with a set of switches, so the train wouldn't have went in any kind of wrong direction Perhaps is the track i used for the train (JT4) not meant for that? Or what's going on a this point? I tried a few more times just to be sure but eventually had to let it go with an SZ, which made a player mad for causing a few mins of delay for him at DG lol I'm not sure if this is a bug, hence i didn't post it in bug reporting until we figure out what happened
  18. Take a look at the left side of the picture Crossing gates are open. In that case you may only approach and cross at 20km/h Don't know if the dispatcher was a player but he should have told you about the open crossing in the first place
  19. First we need actually reflective signs - including the end of train markers Then it would make more sense to shine a light at the end of the train and the signs would reflect the light, providing good visibility of them
  20. I mean i'd be interested in some simrail exploration like that höhö
  21. But at least you can negotiate players that you have no free tracks left and you HAVE to send your train out in order to recieve theirs And at least even the newest players don't stop an intercity to let 2 freights pass that are 6km away approaching at 20km/h 😆
  22. I also hope Sd will be made playable soon as the ai there always creates huge jams. It's basically a choke point
