  1. You can just look at hungarian trains We did have polish cars painted blue 馃榿 It's a shame they were withdrawn and scrapped as these were the comfiest and best cars one could travel in. The ones we have now are boring and don't have coupes (those little 'rooms')
  2. Yes it took me like a few mins to figure out why i can't clear b臋dzin exit However i was already over 100 hours in the game till i figured out what buttons i need to press in juliusz so that i can lock the block and neighbors can release so i'll be able to clear the next train hehh
  3. I have to agree Juliusz seems simple I dove head first into it as a complete noob saying it'll be fine to learn how to use the domino table Ye it lasted like 5 minutes until i had no idea how to clear the signals and players yelling at me to respect their timetables as a passenger train
  4. Thanks guys Turns out it actually has nothing in common with our workhorses besides having DC motors 馃槄 Our machines operate on 25kV 50Hz and i was taught about position switches (with adjustable transformer coil length) and thyristor controls ...so yes, already having DC means you don't need all that fancy hardware, you can just control voltage and current right away However what i'm surprised is the max allowed current is 600A (750 in high setting) and it sometimes gives me some headaches. Is the reason behind it related to the line voltage being 3kV or it's just a limitation of the loco itself? Cause one thing i noticed is with a good loco hauling a longer intercity can suck away as much as 2 to 3 kilovolts from our line with a powerful acceleration. And one can even tip the breaker in the substation with a big old v63 drawing nearly 7000A at start 馃槵 Yea sorry for comparing so much with our AC lines but that's the only thing i have experince with
  5. I mean, if running late isn't the driver's fault, yes, negative points are completely unjustified
  6. So it is indeed intended behavior I guess i just gotta get used to having that extra brake force and plan with it Also i'm really interested in how the si贸demkas work, any good english read that i can find about them? Such as how is the motor voltage regulated, how dc is converted down and used, different circuits, etc (that is if it's not confidential) 馃榿 It is withouth doubt my favorite loco series in the sim (maybe because it feels somewhat similar to our v43-s)
  7. As i was taught to drive trains, when the cars' axles exceed 20, i used the brake release button so that the locomotive's brakes aren't applied, only the train brakes (well i do it anyways and control the loco's braking force by pressing and releasing the button keeping the pressure around 1-2 bar) Now when i press the button and apply the brakes, the loco's cylinders get filled anyways and THEN begin emptying or are only emptied partially, especially in R setting Is this how it's intended to work and if so, how exactly does it work? Our locos have pedals (or buttons) that when pressed, the loco will not brake whatsoever and i got used to it and being able to play with the braking distances with it
  8. Well since then i've learnt some things You can actually go in the toilet on the en57 You can actually flush it You can actually get -100 points for that on a station The en57 is called kibel Kibel means toliet God i love Poles 馃槅
  9. I mean you can't even see car lights at night unless you are like 60-70m from them 馃槄
  10. 90% or our trains also have open toilets Noone -hehe- gives a 馃挬 about prohibited use on stations 馃槅 (well especially for train drivers, that's like the only solution anyways)
  11. Turns out you can even do it on others' trains And you can actually have a peek inside the toilet 馃槢
  12. My guy casually did a double backflip and ended up like that
  13. Since then i also noticed, it's also the case for the older passenger cars with shoes
  14. The traxx AC motors really like doing burnouts don't they 馃榿
  15. Oh yea, and my little si贸demka resting in the nature 馃榿
  16. I haven't seen any posts like this yet though Simrail is a rather photogenic sim with really nice moments to cap, so show us your best screenies I'll begin
  17. The traxx has missing sand tanks under cab 1 (both vanilla and cargo traxxes) It is there under cab 2 though
  18. You need to lock the line when a train from dorota passes your signal. I don't know the button's name in english though but it'll lock the line towards dand贸wka, the line will turn red from white and when the train arrives there, dand贸wka releases the lock signalled by a bell and the line turning white from red
  19. Hold the brake lever in the fill/release position and hold the brake release key (default NumDel) till the brake line fills fully
  20. It may be allowed in different countries but it's forbidden here unless there's a shunting leader on the other end observing signals and forwarding them to the driver in the rear Also an accident happened cause of it not long ago. Driver thought he won't switch cabs in a stadler flirt so he drove backwards while shunting alone Yea and he didn't notice the switches not set correctly and damaged them Then he tried driving forward and absolutely wrecked the switches, derailing and damaging the flirt too heh
  21. One can only do that if there's a shunter (or shunting leader) on the other end of the loco/train Our directives say that for the sake of observing signals, the driver must be in the front cab regarding the direction of movement. As for cab switching, it's exactly the same here as Angelo described. I guess the si贸demka's master key is also removable from the dashboard and you have to bring it to the other cab but for ease of gameplay, devs didn't make it removable With our locos we have to lock the train brake lever in neutral position, take the key, remove master key, remove independent brake lever, remove radio handset and then bring all these to the other cab to be able to turn the thing on again and get moving
  22. In the si贸demkas you can hear the ep valve of the sander in silence (turned off converter and motor fans) Also just realized not long ago that those weird looking glasses on the walls of the cab are actually the sand tanks and you can see the level of sand (can we run out of sand in this sim tho?)
  23. This is just an unimportant idea but i think it would make simrail's world even more lively if there would be random occasional trainspotter characters pointing a camera at trains or standing there having a camera on a tripod near stations, on platforms or on open tracks near cities On the other hand, passengers on platforms should be packed with smaller or bigger bags as passengers using trains always carry some bags packed to the brim. Either backpacks, traveling bags, sports bags, etc (and of course we need more passengers if time and performance will allow it in the future)
