Now that Dovetail refuses to add working toilets in TSW for so many years, can we pleeease have working toilets in SimRail?
We do not necessarily have to have the ability to sit down and do the one thing or the other, but just the ability to go into the toilet, lock the door, flush the toilet, wash your hands, it all adds to the gameplay experience. Could be SO cool!

Toilets are part of reality, let's do it, SimRail! You can do it! I believe in you! 😎

Figures that ‘working’ toilets are exactly the kind of gimmick you’d expect in TSW.

Yeah, they could probably put aside a man-month or two to model the interior of the train toilets, animate the doors and flushing, create sound effects, and script the locking mechanism and (likely already modelled) occupancy displays. But the only ‘gameplay experience’ that it would ‘add to’ would be the experience of goofing around. Which … isn’t really the focus of SimRail. At all.

Also, if you want toilets, it’s only logical that the passenger AI would need to be expanded to use them. (You know, since you’re arguing with it beign ‘part of reality’. Toilets that nobody uses just wouldn’t be realistic, now would they?)

Nearly got caught short on a northbound EC earlier in multiplayer, was getting earlier and earlier and not being looped by the AI (or in some cases staffed signal boxes owing to the traffic at the time, if I had of been looped I was told I'd be held for 30 minutes!), and as I was driving a Traxx you can't activate the bot driver due to a known fault with the brake pipe going into overdrive (and you then can't drive it because the brakes won't come off at all), so next option was to check the map, make sure nothing was behind me, bring the train to a stand in the middle of nowhere and go and spend a penny and then resume driving!

and you lose points for flushing the toilet in a station!

Drivers don't use the toilet anyway, Lucozade bottle and sling it out of the window (or washer bottles on a Class 350, until they padlocked them that is!) 🤣

i always wondered if SimRail would simulate running out of screen washer water, and if an option to re-fill it would be offered ...

Fill screen wash reservoir using you bottle of drinking water

☑️ Pee in the screen wash reservoir

Fun fact: One of of our customers wanted to have on driver`s monitor most of the tabs from real train, including toilet status, which had to be working (changing percentage of water and fecal level during simulation). The easiest way to deliver this was to implement simple simulator of toilets including real life characteristics of occupancy time and delay between occupancies according to passenger count in the vehicle.
