  1. I rarely play on Polish servers but I do on EN ones. This is why I mentioned you are welcome in the English servers because of I know some people there. Polish players were mentioned numerous times for such behaviour towards foreign players on PL servers. The only thing I can say is to apologise for my country men. I do not and will never support such behaviour on any servers. There is a reason I don't play on PL servers while being a native Polish. As for your comment about uetam - I only wrote why it was written in Polish. Another Pole sent you this screenshot from a Discord conversation. That is all. I am not saying it good or bad or any other judgement - purely an information why it was written like that. If you feel offended, please don't. That was never my intention.
  2. Because it was written in the Polish channel on Discord. The emoji suggests it was written in a humorous fashion to poke on the commentators there. I have not seen the conversation. Isn't the game translated to Spanish? Steam provides information about that and not about server types or rather server names as it was repeatedly said that there are no rules forcing you to speak the language of each server. It seems it is merely a suggestion. I understand the frustration but please don't think it is the end of the SimRail world for Spanish. It seems new international servers will open and in your place I would decide with the community on which server you will settle anew. I am almost sure you will also be welcome on any of the EN servers especially now that most people know "your" servers were closed. I would also like to point out that, in my opinion, the developers were selecting the servers purely based on the activity and not by aiming at certain communities. It seems obvious but let's not forget about that. The dev showing the activity logs of the servers proves that (though the logs shown were just from five days after the New Year). This seems to be the same reason why PL and DE aren't being merge (yet!) - they simply have larger numbers of players.
  3. Sending the screenshot to confirm one can reach 39/40. I when I was doing Kraków Przedmieście it jumped to 4/40 for me correctly. The next day, the progress was back to 3/40. Not sure if it is related to Przedmieście or just the current (at that time) state of triggers.

  5. Gazz292 They say it was Gazz who showed the devs how to operate EU07... Just kidding but to say Gazz is a veteran SimRail player is an understatement. Since December 2022, he’s contributed nearly 900 posts, generously sharing his extensive knowledge with the SimRail community. Gazz is best known for his impressive setup featuring 3D-printed controls integrated with electronics to make them fully functional, his strong dislike for cruise-control locomotives, and his complete disinterest in dispatching. Remarkably, Gazz292 ranks 34th in kilometers driven and 40th in overall score. One standout achievement worth mentioning is his ZERO hours spent on dispatching jobs—now that’s true dedication to driving and an unshakable resolve to avoid even the slightest curiosity about dispatching. Here are his elaborate answers to my questions: 1. How did you find out about SimRail and since when do you play? I'd been looking for a realistic train driving simulator for over a decade, a big 'must have' being the ability to connect 'driving controls and gauges' to the sim as i had done with my bus driving cab for Omsi back in 2012. In 2022 someone on an Omsi forum mentioned SimRail as potentially being the next 'hardcore' train driving simulator.... a sort of Zusi with modern graphics. So i downloaded the prologue and immediately saw the potential.... a more hardcore, realistic train sim for people who like to pretend to be train drivers rather than have an arcade like experience of driving trains. i got on the playtests in 2023 and have been enjoying it ever since. 2. What was the first thing that made you think “yes, this is a game I want to play more”? Finding out the multiplayer bit means that no 2 runs over the a route will be the same. By this i mean the 'human element' of other drivers and dispatchers on the servers means your drive is not a scripted 'groundhog day' style of events that plays out the same way every time. Even the 'Ai' dispatcher will do things slightly different each time if you were to drive the same service daily on an empty server! This makes SimRail more like driving a real train... a train driver in real life drives over the same route for years, but every days drive is slightly different as things like weather and other people's actions along the route alter things slightly. 3. Do you think you would play SimRail as much if it had no multiplayer mode? Definitely not. It would just be another scripted train game then, where you need to buy a new DLC every few weeks to remain interested. 4. In a game about trains, there are many idle moments. How do you handle those? 
 I only drive the trains, i do not play the role of dispatcher / signaller. I drive the trains using 3D printed controllers i made, and i only like to drive the older passenger trains (EU07, EP08, EN57) where you have to manually adjust things as you drive (no cruise control for me) So i'm constantly doing things like adjusting the power wheel / lever to regulate the trains speed, flipping switches and pressing buttons. I try to drive as realistically as i can, so i do things like wind the wheel / lever down to notch zero for neutral sections, dim the headlights when an oncoming train approaches or when entering a platform to stop, raising the 2nd pantograph on loco's when stopped and so on. I also like to drive with the HUD totally off using the paper timetables displayed on an E-ink reader mounted to the side of my laptops screen, so i have to keep track of the hectometer boards to know where in the timetable i am so i can see what speed limits or stops are ahead. 5. Do you listen, watch or read anything else while playing? I have ADHD and my mind can wander so easily if i let it... "hang on a sec, i think i see a squirrel.... erm, where was" The other side to this is i can hyperfocus so much nothing else around me appears to exist, So i can drive an IC service from one end of the line to the other for almost 4 hours, and get totally immersed in pretending to be a train driver enjoying every second. Things like my 3D printed controllers and using TrackIr helps with the immersion a lot. 6. Do you have any rituals before or during the gameplay? Not really, i just clip my controllers onto my laptop desk and fire SimRail up. sometimes i will do this at a certain time so i can get a specific service to drive and start it from the beginning of the map. As much as i love the immersion of pretending to be a train driver, i don't go as far as using a pop bottle as a toilet as real train drivers have to... so i sometimes have to ask a dispatcher to put my train in the sidings so i can 'go and water a tree' 7. Name one thing you like the most in SimRail. Only one... dang that's hard. I guess it would be that the 'parent company' of SimRail is SimKol, who make full on driving cab style simulators to train real life train drivers. So what we get in SimRail is basically a home user version of a professional training simulator with the dispatching side of things added on in multiplayer. 8. Name one thing that annoys you the most in SimRail. That the dev team is a small one and only able to do so much work in a day, Sure i wish SimRail had a AAA game budget and thousands of devs, but it's simply not the case. At the end of the day this is a very niche title in a very very small market. So i just have to be patient and wait for the content to be released that i am waiting for (mostly the home cockpit I/O system. 9. What is one thing, no matter how large or strange, you would like to have added to the game? A multiplayer 1980's route in Germany with things like the mighty BR103 hauling TEE and RheinGold coaches across the map. For me nostalgia is a big thing, and simulators are a great way to allow people to relive the past (or experience a time before they were born) Anyone can ride on a pendolino or elf simply by buying a train ticket tomorrow, or watch traxx's and dragons hauling freight on the modern railway. But being able to go back in time and get to drive the iconic trains of the past on main lines at full speed... even heritage railways can't replicate that. 10. What advice would you give to new players? Train drivers: SimRail is possibly a more realistic train driving sim than you may be used to, There are a lot of arcade like train sims out there where everything is very much simplified to gain the widest player base (and most sales). SimRail is different to the usualmore 'relaxed' train sims, as it's based on the software used to train real life train drivers in Poland, making it a bit more 'hardcore' than some are used to. So it is going to take some time to learn how to operate the trains, at first you will make many mistakes and end up tripping safety systems that are not replicated in other simulators. The Polish train driving experience may differ from your own countries railway system too, and when you add in the multiplayer aspect... where your performance affects others around you, it can be overwhelming to begin with, especially if this is your first ever train simulator experience. Watch some youtube videos of others driving in SimRail, read the forums and discord channels, read the guides on the SimRail forum, run the single player tutorials.... and things will begin to make sense. A few weeks learning things can pay off with a lifetime of enjoyment pretending to be a train driver.... or it can make you realise that this is just too complicated and one of the simpler arcade like train games is more for you. 11. What advice would you give to veteran players? Trains get delayed all the time in the real world, if you are running late it just makes things more interesting for the dispatchers and other train drivers.... and for you as you try and pull back lost time. The speed limits are all there for a reason, those annoying 20km/h limits are there to stop a culvert or bridge from collapsing and closing the line, parts of the railway are still suffering from years of under funding and mining damage in real life.. and SimRail is based on the real life PKP situation from 2018 onwards. 12. What could the developers do better in your opinion? Smaller more frequent updates if possible, and bug fixes released soon after they are fixed... rather than waiting until the next big update which ends up being in 8 months time. 13. How do you feel about the update? What works and what could still be improved? The main thing i was waiting for in this update was more keybinds, so my 3D printed switch box can be better utilised... it used to have only 11 of it's 22 buttons and switches usable due to missing keybinds, now it only has 2 missing (the 'train heating' switch, and 'open line contactors' button) The steam train, like modern plastic trains... i'm just really not into them, electric trains that ran in the 1980's are my thing So of course i think the 1980's route is great... sure it has bugs that need fixing but a lot of work has gone into it and i appreciate that, i really hope we can get it introduced into multiplayer one day (that nostalgia thing again) The route extensions are great, always nice to get more parts of the network to drive on, i am looking forwards to being able to drive on the commuter lines through Centralna station. 14. Any final thoughts or comments you would like to share? I never thought i'd be interested in the multiplayer side of SimRail, thinking i'd stick to single player only. But i am happy to have been proven wrong, as having humans dispatching and driving in one sim replicates the real railway so well. Thankfully most people treat SimRail as a professional simulator and work together to run the railway as if it was real life, making the experience positive for everyone, and i know i can not go back to single player scripted train sims now.

Finally, I asked Bastian the questions before the December update and he obviously was busy with trying the new content. Therefore, there are questions and answers from before and after the update. Without further ado, lets hear from Bastian. 1. How did you find out about SimRail and since when do you play? I learned about SimRail from the Internet and I play since March 2023. 2. What was the first thing that made you think “yes, this is a game I want to play more”? Realistic reproduction of all details, multiplayer. 3. Do you think you would play SimRail as much if it had no multiplayer mode? I don't think so. 4. In a game about trains, there are many idle moments. How do you handle those? I read posts in forums. 5. Do you listen, watch or read anything else while playing? The only thing I am doing is talking with friends on Discord. 6. Do you have any rituals before or during the gameplay? Yes, coffee and cigarettes. 7. Name one thing you like the most in SimRail. The realism. 8. Name one thing that annoys you the most in SimRail. What advice would you give to new players? To become minimally familiar with the theme of the game. Choose low-population servers to not to disturb the others. 11. What advice would you give to veteran players? This is a delicate subject, because I am one myself, but perhaps to be more understanding. Yes, understanding and willingness to help less experienced players. 12. What could the developers do better in your opinion? To focus more on adding new routes and stock* and not on fixing small bugs which don't bring much to the game. 13. In December, we will have a significant update. Which of its aspects are you looking forwards the most? The Kraków route. 14. When the update drops, what will you be trying first? Definitely the new signal boxes but also the single-player scenarios. 15. Any final thoughts or comments you would like to share? The developers should work in a completely different way. 16. Unfortunately, many mistakes, unrealistic timetable, names of trains are hilarious, no Kraków Główny signal box and repeated bugs!!! They really had a lot of time for this and I personally feel disappointed!!! THE ORIGINAL VERSION IN POLISH 1. Jak dowiedziałeś się o SimRail i od kiedy grasz? Dowiedziałem się z internetu, i gram od Marca 2023r. 2. Co było pierwszą rzeczą, po której pomyślałeś "tak, to jest gra w którą chcę grać"? Realistyczne odwzorowanie wszelkich detali, funkcja multiplayer. 3. Czy grałbyś tyle samo w SimRail, gdyby nie było trybu gry dla wielu graczy? Raczej nie. 4. W grze o pociągach często zdarzają się przerwy. Jak sobie z nimi radzisz? Czytam wiadomości na forach społecznościowych. 5. Czy podczas grania robisz jeszcze coś innego, jak słuchanie muzyki czy oglądanie filmów? Jedyne co robię to rozmawiam na discord ze znajomymi. 6. Czy masz jakieś nawyki podczas grania? Tak, Kawa, papieros 7. Wymień jedną rzecz, którą lubisz najbardziej w SimRail? Realizm 8. Wymień jedną rzecz, która Cię najbardziej irytuje w SimRail? Opóźnienia przy aktualizacjach!!!! 9. Co chciałbyś najbardziej, żeby dodano do gry? Nowe trasy i Aktualne tabor. 10. Jaką radę dałbyś początkującym graczom? Aby w minimalnym stopniu zaznajomili się z tematyką gry. Wybierać serwery o małym natężeniu ,aby nie utrudniać gry innym. 11. Jaką radę dałbyś weteranom? To akurat trudny temat, bo sam nim jestem, ale może to aby być bardziej wyrozumiałym. Tak wyrozumiałość i chęć pomocy mniej doświadczonym graczom. 12. Co developerzy mogliby robić lepiej? Powinni się bardziej skupić nad rozbudową tras i taboru, a nie poprawiania jakiś małych błędów w grze, które i tak nie wiele wnoszą do rozgrywki.. 13. W grudniu czeka nas duża aktualizacja. Na który jej aspekt czekasz najbardziej? Trasa Kraków. 14. W samym dniu aktualizacji, co będziesz próbował najpierw sprawdzić w grze? Zdecydowanie nowe nastawnie, ale i tez scenariusze na singiel. 15. Czy masz jakieś komentarz lub przemyślenia na koniec? Administracja gry powinna pracować w zdecydowanie inny sposób. 16. Jakie masz odczucia po aktualizacji? Co wyszło, a nad czym można by jeszcze popracować? Jeden wielki nie wypał!!! Niestety duzo błędów, brak realistycznego rozkładu jazdy, nazwy pociągów są śmieszne, brak Nastawni Kraków główny, i powielające się błędy!!! Mieli na to naprawde bardzo duzo czasu i ja osobiście czuje się rozczarowany!!!

Mówimy tutaj o celowym utrudnianiu, co jak widać jest w sprzeczności z : Nagminne wysyłanie pociągów obydwa dostępnymi torami przez Sz bez zgody i blokady, spamowanie WBL, anulowanie przyjęcia zgody i ponowne WBL, żeby dzwoniło (DGZ). Czekanie, na wysłanie pociągu, żeby sprawdzić na który tor, po czym wskakiwanie na stację docelową i wysyłanie na Sz specjalnie po tym torze na czołówkę. Mało tego, gdy i gracz, i bot się zatrzymali, wskakiwanie do pociągu bota i kontynuowanie jazdy na czołówkę. Wszystkie te czynności wymagają wiedzy jak to zrobić, więc nie ma mowy o błędzie wynikającym z braku doświadczenia.
  9. Chyba masz rację. Wprowadzenie takiej opcji teraz wyglądałoby na dość desperacki krok. Osobiście nie mam nic przeciwko "niedzielnym graczom" i jestem po stronie ludzi, dla których zmniejszenie płynności przez czynnik ludzki to ciekawe urozmaicenie pomijając celowe naprzykrzanie się.
  10. Chętnie poczytam jakąś konstruktywną krytykę, więc śmiało. Jak zaznaczyłem to tylko rozmyślania. EDIT: choć czytając jeszcze raz użyte epitety nie liczę na taką.
  11. Zastanawiałem się kiedyś co by dało wprowadzenie opcjonalnego płatnego serwera. Wchodząc tutaj właściwie myślałem, że autor pisze właśnie o czymś takim. Dostęp byłby po opłaceniu miesięcznego abonamentu w jakiejś* kwocie. Wydaje mi się, że w tym biznesie nic nie zapewnia większej stabilności finansowej developerom niż taki model.   12. I have played a bit in PL2 recently and saw two cases of a foreign player dispatching there. In one case, they were on Sosnowiec Południowy and were chatting (written chat) quite a bit in English. Every Polish player that was passing through responded as well (I was driving so can only speak of the time I was nearby) - all in all it was a great atmosphere. I believe the player was around level 50 in the game (people do check levels if something is amiss with dispatching and such). In the other case, the foreigner was in Dąbrowa Górnicza Ząbkowice and was not saying a thing. I saw two Poles complaining about it because they were sent to a different route (the freight one or the slow passenger one) and would like an explanation or at least a warning. They were complaining to the point that other Polish dispatchers scolded them. I would say feel free to join PL2 but please try to write about changes in routes or train sequences in English. It seems PL2 players are used to being warned in such situations and if you don't say anything, some may see it as trolling from a foreign visitor. I am not saying their approach is correct* but I think this may be the reason of the overly hostile reaction from them. Also, I don't anything but English will work. As a side note: if you are wondering what the voice chatter you hear in PL2 is about: in most cases drivers are asking dispatchers "Will I have a clear route through the station?", general greetings with "radio checks". *I could hear quite a bit of trash talk about foreigners in such situations which is just sad.

  14. I would say bots have hard time with technical stops (pt). At first, I wanted to point that out but you mention it in the very beginning (that it would probably take long time to fix AI so you propose changing the timetable). I guess that is a low-hanging fruit of a solution since it seems that indeed when the trains are closer to each other, bots tend to actually respect a pt. There is also another aspect, however, that 42xxx needs to cross the dreaded Sonowiec Południowy turn and the TME goes straight from Katowice Muchowiec Staszic. If players (or AI) fails to let it go sufficiently early, the gap will grow between TLK and TME and Dańdówka will most likely let TME go.
  15. Moooritz is a moderator for the German community of SimRail who also frequently visits our English channel on Discord. Moooritz is the 6th in the world in level and the 8th in driven distance. He also doesn't slack at dispatching being in top 100 at 70th place. Here what he had to say about the game. *** How did you find out about SimRail and since when do you play? A friend told me about the game when it was in Prologue version. I lost it over the years and then it somehow popped up again in Playtests a few days before Christmas 2023. From this point it caught me. What was the first thing that made you think “yes, this is a game I want to play more”? The multiplayer aspect is key in this game. You can choose between train driver and dispatcher and you can interact with others, that's what makes this game enjoying. I also like the details in comparison to other train games. Could you tell us how and when you became a moderator for SimRail? I will not go into detail, at first I was normal player and then I got asked if I want to participate, first in beta and then as moderator. And as you know - I accepted. Do you think you would play SimRail as much if it had no multiplayer mode? No, I don't think so. Sometimes I am also playing other train games, but they are getting boring quick because there is no MP. In a game about trains, there are many idle moments. How do you handle those?

What advice would you give to new players? Please use the radio only for essential communication. Driver: Look at the speeds displayed in the HUD. There are many players derailing because disregarding speed limits. Dispatcher: If you are playing on busy servers (DE1, EN1, PL2) please leave the station when you are noticing that (many) trains are waiting at your station. It makes things much easier. What advice would you give to veteran players? If you are doing a mistake, please apologize for it and don't try to find an excuse. What could the developers do better in your opinion? There are a few things, but I won't say anything here. Any final thoughts or comments you would like to share? Even if not all things in this game are perfect, there are cool things to come in the future.

While at the respectable level north of 120*, chromatix does not top the charts. However, being a walking encyclopaedia fully justifies his position here in my humble opinion. *the profile is set to private, hence I cannot give you a specific number. Admittedly, I haven’t played the game for a long time now. *** 1. How did you find out about SimRail and since when do you play? It was mentioned on the TSW forums as one of several alternative train sims that could be worth looking at. I didn't take all the suggestions, but SimRail and Derail Valley are now in my collection. Looking at my purchase history, they seem to have been early Christmas (2022) presents to myself. 2. What was the first thing that made you think “yes, this is a game I want to play more”? I made a point to play all the single-player content to familiarise myself with the game, before jumping into multiplayer. So I was impressed with the physics, systems, and operational modelling - all of which are done noticeably better by default (ie. in core first-party content) than any train sim I've previously encountered. These aspects have mostly held up over time, too. When I also tried multiplayer, I found that the signalling is also implemented realistically, not as a "bodged simulacrum" (as in RailWorks and TSW) or left out altogether (as in Derail Valley). This makes a huge difference to my experience. 3. Do you think you would play SimRail as much if it had no multiplayer mode? If it had some other dynamic gameplay loop to replace the variety imposed by multiplayer, quite possibly. Just the set of single-player missions provided, though, wouldn't provide much replay value - there would have to be a heavy exchange of community-authored scenarios to make up for it. 4. In a game about trains, there are many idle moments. How do you handle those? Often making coffee, or even dinner, or continuing a line of research I'd picked up on a different computer. 5. Do you listen, watch or read anything else while playing? Sometimes. It's worth noting, though, that music can obscure sounds that are helpful for driving. I'm more likely to have music on if I'm dispatching. 6. Do you have any rituals before or during the gameplay? Not really. 7. Name one thing you like the most in SimRail. The large and complex network of lines constituting the main route, which allows for a lot more variety in gameplay than the typical A-B route in RailWorks and TSW, and train services several hours long without silly time-wasting. I'm looking forward to the further extensions of this network to Lodz and Krakow. There is also still untapped potential in the many freight terminals and marshalling yards beside the line. 8. Name one thing that annoys you the most in SimRail. Mouse input is very glitchy. I have rebound the mouselook button away from the "pull domino button" on my mouse, which avoids some confusion, but using either of these buttons often results in the game freezing up for several seconds. This is not a consistent effect, but if it happens once in a session, it will keep on happening. Since looking around the cab is necessary to operate some controls (eg. train heating, overload reset, front pantograph), it's very immersion-breaking at the moment I need those controls. When dispatching, I often find a camera position where I don't need to look around to operate all the necessary controls. 9. What is one thing, no matter how large or strange, you would like to have added to the game? Tutorials for dispatching, and explaining some basics of railway operations to players previous unfamiliar with the genre. I could muddle through it, since I've been playing train sims since the original MSTS (including SimSig!), but I see and hear about a fair number of players who start without the first clue. 10. What advice would you give to new players? Drivers - pick a loco, and study it thoroughly before trying another. They are all markedly different, and you will quickly confuse yourself if you play only one tutorial and expect it to teach you everything you need to know about every vehicle - because it doesn't. The Elf (EN76 and EN96) is a good place to start for passenger trains, and the Dragon (ET25 and E6ACTa) is a good starting point for freight. Dispatchers - learn to walk before you run. Look for AND READ the manuals. Computer panels are the easiest to operate, but operating the panel is not where the skill comes in. Decisions as to which train to send first, and where, are what you build up by experience. The very first thing you should ascertain when trying a new station is the interlock type to each neighbouring station. Do this on EU3 server where you won't disturb anyone. 11. What advice would you give to veteran players? Drivers - handling the brakes is an art. Study it carefully. Don't use the Fill position continuously. Dispatchers - the radio is not a gossip channel. Leave the air clear for operational messages. 12. What could the developers do better in your opinion? SimRail does a lot of things well that other sims don't even approach, or have actively given up on. The one thing that falls short is something I refer to as "papercuts" - bugs that are objectively small and may even be easily fixed, but disproportionately annoying when encountered. These are things like the misconfiguration of brakes on two vehicles of the Pendolino, or the strange behaviour of the dropdown menu of train numbers when composing a message to an AI dispatcher. Good practice is to dedicate some proportion of dev time, and a regular release schedule, to clearing these "papercuts" out of the game. Don't let them languish for months between major updates. I have actually been considering making my own tutorials for dispatching, in video (screen recording) format. The dropdown menu "papercut" I mentioned is one of the main reasons I have not yet done so. I want to be able to demonstrate the most proper way to do things, but this misfeature actively discourages me from doing so! 13. Any final thoughts or comments you would like to share? Despite the above criticism, I'm overall impressed with the approach to development that SimRail exhibits. The fundamental design is sound, and demonstrates a commitment to provide a realistic operational environment from the outset. Other sims have a tendency to bodge it to start with, and then perpetually hack in workarounds for the resulting unfortunate initial design decisions. If this continues - as it should, considering the developers' background in professional training sims - then I have high hopes for the future.
  17. Hello, for a long time, I was confused with the strange line numbers between the double post DGZ/DGZ DZA. Having a lot of fun to come back to dispatching DGZ, I would like to give a quick and dirty overview on where do the strange numbers come from. This is obviously a visual guide for newcommers. Veteran players won't find anything special in here. For tl;dr, simply have a glimpse at the marked dispatching table - it should be self-explanatory. All switches are 40 km/h. *** As mentioned before, the most confusing thing for me was the line 133 which you can see in EDR. I assumed it is the freight lane but where is the bloody line? Well, the big Eureka moment for me was noticing that the table is actually divided in two: greyish one for the main DGZ and green tiles for DGZ DZA. Seriously, I don't know how I haven't noticed it before. *** LINE 1 In the picture with the table, I have marked the Line 1 with yellow lines. This is the fast lane and it is pretty obvious. When trains arrive from Dąbrowa Górnicza from the west side via the yellow line, they usually continue eastards towards Łazy Łc also through the same line, Line 1. LINE 1 (DG) -> Line 186 (Łc) However, sometimes train switch from fast Line 1 to the slower one (freight and some regional trains). For those trains, EDR marks the transition to "Dąbr. Górn. Ząbk. DZA", so the next substation to the East, via Line 133 (see the attached EDR pictures, separately for DGZ and DZA). Line 133 is marked in the same picture with the green colour on the left. Trains from Dąbrowa Górnicza Huta Katowice arrive and depart through this line. Thus, in order to properly move the aforementioned trains through Dąbrowa Górnicza Ząbkowice (DGZ), we need to use the grey line "A" (marked). The train arrive on the left from the yellow line, go through the grey line "A" and continue on the green Line 133. I wrote "propely" just to emphasise how EDR (so also the people who created it) wants us to make it. There are, however, occasions where it is not always possible. For example, Line 133 is occupied by a train from Dąbrowa Górnicza Huta Katowice. In this case, we can also lead the train via Line 1 into DZA (the green background, right-hand side of the table) and make the transition on the big "X" junction (I really should have marked it as well). Another uncofortable case is for such transitions of freight trains, like 62xxxx. This train is supposed to go right after a freight train from DG Huta Katowice. They normally arrive at the same time and the 62xxxx needs to stop at the grey line "A". However, its tail will not leave Line 1 and it will be still occupied. Typically, there is no train following it from Dąbrowa Górnicza so it is not a problem. However, when there is a late train tailing it, we should probably put 62xxxx on some of the side tracks by the Line 1 and later make the transition on the "X" junction. Another observation: although the side tracks do look short on the table, I have yet to encounter a freight train that does not fit there. I am not saying all trains will alway fit there though as I don't consider myself a specialist. But I haven't seen such a case. LINE 1 (Łc) -> LINE 133 (DG Huta Katowice) This case is similar to the previous one. However, double check which line should the trains transition to 133. For fast trains, they usually continue on the Line 1 and change the lines after the platforms through the grey line "B". This spot, however, is the most dangerous spot in the game (in my humble opinion). The reason for that are semaphores marked in the picture with stars. When a train arrive from Łazy via the fast Line 1, they usually have travel with 110-120 km/h there. Our entry semaphore will give them 100 km/h limit and they merrily continue towards DZG. Then, they cross the semaphore marked with orange star. If we gave them permission to cross, it will warn them about the upcoming limit of 40 km/h but the semaphore has double arrows which means the next semaphore is located way closer than normally. And it is. If a train is not prepared, they will have troubles slowing to fourty and can derail. We had discussions about this spot in the Discord group and some people suggested transitioning the fast lanes early over the "X" junction in DZA. The others keep the orange star semaphore on red until they see people slow down and only then provide green. LINE 133 (DG Huta Katowice) -> LINE 186 (Łc) Trains go over a streight line with a high speed limit (100 km/h ?). If you don't have to, don't stop freight trains there. They will fly over your station. The opposite direction, Łc -> DG Huta Katowice, for freight trains is even easier since they mostly (always?) arrive from Łazy Łc over the Line 160. I don't know why it isn't called Line 186 in the other direction. However, for those trains, there is a straight line to go to Huta Katowice' with little to no problems. We need to request passage to Dąbrowa Górnicza Huta Katowice though. However, luckily we can simply press WBL without asking the bot. It will do the same for trains arriving from there. Don't forget to "KO" the line after their train arrive! *** I think that is all I wanted to share about the mighty Dąbrowa Górnicza Ząbkowice and the sister station, DZA. It is a lot of fun but can get hectic in rush hours or with queues of delayed trains. I hope this over-extended guide will help overcome the anxiety of taking over it for newcommers. As a curiosity, I will tell you that it was his website that I have found that the famous Sean the Sheep is a very high-ranked player. The website of P.Wiśnia was the first I have found that had leaderboards according to experience points and not only kilometers driven and dispatching jobs hours. The high rank of P.Wiśnia has not the highest number in kilometers driven but his level is in the top 100. Thus, my previous complains (those who knows, knows) about freight trains having no chance with Pendolino drivers in the rankings goes to hell. But I digress... As with Sparkles, P.Wiśnia is busy developing his website and is not ranked in the top of the tops. However, I have reached out to him curious about the motivation behind the project. It depends, sometimes there's just a lot of traffic and you need to focus. Otherwise I listen music in the background. Do you have any rituals before or during the gameplay? That they would be understanding to new players and help them. What could the developers do better in your opinion? As far as the game is concerned, they should focus on adding new train sets and signal boxes in Warsaw. Increasing the number of moderators would also be very good. You have created a website jam-packed with features related to SimRail. As I can see, it is still evolving. What motivated you to start this project? Unifying all of the community's ideas into one page and creating new features that no one else was offering yet. The site also offers a database where you can find any information about simrail.   19. Sparkles Sparkles is a prominent player from Sweden. Although not being in top 100 players, her widespread contribution to SimRail unofficial tools is admirable. She is the creator of the drivers for using a steering wheel in SimRail and the first, to the best of my knowledge, person who added features to the official SimRail live map, such as route speed, distance to the nearest signal or even the indication of the recent (though already obsolete) object of desire: the double ET22 train with the second locomotive properly indicated as "cold". I don't remeber how I found the game but it was probably me being bored of the TSW bugs and seraching for new train games on steam. I saw the trailer and saw multiplayer and almost fell in love with the game. I added the game to my wishlist aswell as calling some friends to tell them about it. I played since the playtest started and I got around 5 friends to try the game with me. 2. What was the first thing that made you think “yes, this is a game I want to play more”? When playing during the playtest I was amazed about how good the dispatching felt. The driving feel uncooked to me but I got used to it and started loving the game due to it's multiplayer ability aswell as the dispatching mode. But seeing how I could play multiplayer got is what made me feel "I need to play this more" before I would play TSW and screenshare while my friends were also playing but just being able to pass eachother inside the game was a whole new thing. 3. Do you think you would play SimRail as much if it had no multiplayer mode? No, the multiplayer is what gets me to play, seeing people you know on the server and always getting the friendly chats with the dispatch or other drivers. Being able to joke while still taking the job seriously is the best thing ever. If there was no multiplayer I would probably play TSW instead as it offers more routes. 4. In a game about trains, there are many idle moments. How do you handle those? When I work as a dispatcher I use the breaks to read the timetable and plan for the feature but sometimes I take a toilet break or go get some coffee. As a driver I go and activate the bot so if I would be late back or get release early everything is fine. Sometimes I go eat food or take other smaller breaks just to not sit still for too long. 5. Do you listen, watch or read anything else while playing? I for the most part listen to music but sometimes as a dispatcher I watch youtube as I can pause it when trains are comming. I also sit in discord calls with friends as it's fun to hear them complain about other dispatcher etc. When I listen to music I mostly listen to metal but sometimes I relax with some historic music. My most listen to artist while playing simrail must be Sabaton. Sabaton has a song about poland being at war during the Second world (Uprising) war were they sing about Warsawa for example and it is a song I listen to when arriving to Warsawa. 6. Do you have any rituals before or during the gameplay? Coffee. Coffee is all you need but I mostly play when coming home from school as I am tired and want to relax a bit before coding or doing school work. 7. Name one thing you like the most in SimRail. The sound of passing over junctions, there is nothing better. I always pause the music or scream at the call to be quite just to enjoy the sound. 8. Name one thing that annoys you the most in SimRail. Late pendelinos. When the pendos are on time there is no problem as you stop the other trains as needed with their PT stop but if a pendo is late you are sometimes unsure if you should send the train or hold it for the pendo. This leads to the pendo being slightly more delayed or the other train being stopped for waaaay to long. 9. What is one thing, no matter how large or strange, you would like to have added to the game? Swedish route DLC - There would be nothing better than driving heavy freight trough the Swedish forest at night seeing some animal on the track and having to emergency break Random events - Stuff like people on the track, temp limits changing, ETCS balise error. Stuff that makes driving differ everytime Passanger mode - I pick up services from were I last left of and taking a train to then drive a train would be cool as hell like having friends drive one leg of the service and then you change but you need to take a train to get to the point where you change. 10. What advice would you give to new players? Driving, if you somehow stop due to overloading or anything else and you don't know how to get moving, just leave it to the bot. Dispatching, learn on servers like EU3 but if you have a friend to teach you do it on whatever server you want aslong as you make sure you can handle it and leave it to the bot if you don't know what to do instead of trying for 10 minutes. Both, always be respectful when using voice and text, don't get mad if you get stopped or if a driver is driving to slow or asking you for a green while you are setting the path. Sometimes drivers are late and a bit stress but just try and handle it as good as possible. 11. What advice would you give to veteran players? Apologize for your mistakes and don't try to play a "I have more hours than you card" don't scream at dispatch because they did not disptach the way you would dispatch. Be respectful and don't get too mad at new players, try to help them instead. 12. What could the developers do better in your opinion? More communication, we get a devlog every now and then but then the updated contains more or less stuff that we did not even know about. Please update the devlogs when stuff happens and try and tell us more about what is happening as there was quite a big miscommunication with the shunting where many people thought it would be in multiplayer when it was not. 13. Any final thoughts or comments you would like to share? Well, happy that I got interviewd hope that this was fun to read. Don't know why I got asked to be interviewd as I am boring as hell. When I am dispatching, which I usually do, there are rarely breaks long enough to utilise them for anything other than going to the kitchen 5. Do you listen, watch or read anything else while playing? Music and movies 6. Do you have any rituals before or during the gameplay? cola 7. Name one thing you like the most in SimRail. The interaction with other players 8. Name one thing that annoys you the most in SimRail. Lots of bugs (unfortunately recurring ones as well), servers not being able to handle the amount of players. All this makes the impression that this is one big makeshift solution. 9. What is one thing, no matter how large or strange, you would like to have added to the game? It would be sufficient, if the developers added what they have promised at the beginning of the development 10. What advice would you give to new players? Familiarise yourself thoroughly with the principles of operation of signal boxes and traffic management, as well as how to operate the vehicles. 11. What advice would you give to veteran players? They take the game too seriously trying to literally apply irl rules in it. 12. What could the developers do better in your opinion? They could just start to “exist”. Currently, we feel no support from them. There is no information about the progress of the development. Foreign (non Polish - added by chancellor) players receive preferential treatment in terms of punishments and restrictions compared to Poles. This is especially visible for Russian players - one of them got banned only after a few months of reporting his cases of obstructing gameplay for others. 13. Jaką radę dałbyś początkującym graczom? Szczegółowo zapoznać się z zasadami działania zarówno nastawni i prowadzenia ruchu , jak i radzenia sobie z obsługą taboru. 11. Jaką radę dałbyś weteranom? Zbyt poważnie traktuje się symulator próbując literalnie „zaszczepić” w nim rozwiązania z reala. 12. Co developerzy mogliby robić lepiej? Mogliby po prostu „zaistnieć”. W tej chwili nie czuje się w ogóle wsparcia developerów. Brak informacji o postępie prac przy kolejnych etapach tworzenia symulatora. Gracze obcojęzyczni są łagodniej traktowani od graczy polskich – w przypadku stwierdzenia niewłaściwych zachowań w grze. Szczególnie dotyczy to graczy rosyjskich – jeden został zbanowany dopiero po kilku miesiącach zgłaszania przypadków utrudniania przez niego gry innym. 13.   22. DazT Next, we take the Channel Tunnel from France to the United Kingdom. Here, we meet with DazT who, count with me, is the 3rd in experience points, the 6th in kilometers driven (92101 km) AND the 4th in time spent on dispatching jobs (1513 hours). Let's hear what a player with such achievements can tell us about the game. 1. How did you find out about SimRail and since when do you play? It was pure luck of looking on Steam on day. That would have been February 2023. 2. What was the first thing that made you think “yes, this is a game I want to play more”? It was the signalling and how it is implemented. No one else to my knowledge had created a sim where you feel like you’re actually stood at a signalling panel, able to operate it and actually see the trains you’re controlling go past the window! The icing on the cake is not all of those trains are bot controlled, you’re actually signalling real people! 3. Do you think you would play SimRail as much if it had no multiplayer mode? In all honestly, probably not! I was hesitant at the very start thinking “this’ll never take off”, I remember my first time signalling/driving, I was so nervous! But the multiplayer is certainly the thing that makes it stand out from the competition. I’d often dreamed of having a sim that combined signalling and driving simulator in one, SimRail delivered on that! To this day I’ve never had two days the same on SimRail, and that also makes multiplayer better than single player in my opinion, nothing is scripted, delays are very real! 4. In a game about trains, there are many idle moments. How do you handle those? It purely depends on what I’m driving, if there’s a long stop somewhere it’s usually a good pit stop to make a cup of tea and grab a quick bite to eat. The idle moments when signalling are a bit easier to deal with as you can usually tell when they’re going to be and how long of a break you’ll get by finding gaps in traffic using the EDR, and depending on where you are it is a good opportunity to make some dinner, catch up on washing and loading the dishwasher! 5. Do you listen, watch or read anything else while playing? If I’m driving it’s rare I have anything else happening, unless I’m stopped somewhere for a long time and aren’t doing things mentioned in my answer for question 4. Signalling on the other hand, sometimes nothing, sometimes a bit of music on low. If I’m on late at night then sometimes I’ll put a film on, a lot of it comes down to where you are at the time, as the busier boxes require a bit more attentiveness. 6. Do you have any rituals before or during the gameplay? I don’t really have any for signalling, more when driving I guess. If I’m driving I always like to start from the last place where I finished off, I try to always finish in Katowice (Doesn’t always happen, I have lodged over night when I’ve got myself wrong ended in Warsaw!) During game play I then like to work a virtual diagram like a real driver would, so work a train from A to B, then B to C, C to D, etc, it’s rare you’ll see me driving the same direction twice in succession, Having some breaks in between as well, if I drive to Warsaw I’ll never work the next one out of there, I’ll have a break for an hour or two before working one back somewhere. Depending on which train I’ve driven last means sometimes I have to take a fake taxi ride somewhere to start the next train from somewhere else. (Sosnowiec Maczki back to Katowice is a regular!) 7. Name one thing you like the most in SimRail. Definitely the multiplayer aspect! 8. Name one thing that annoys you the most in SimRail. Drivers that don’t understand there’s a timetable for a reason and there are other trains not just the one they’re driving! 9. What is one thing, no matter how large or strange, you would like to have added to the game? Blinds and opening windows for the signal boxes, oh and perhaps a kettle! 10. What advice would you give to new players? You will mess up, never be afraid of that bit! Even those of use that have been around for a while still mess up! But don’t try to run before you can walk, take your time, learn and hone your skills on the quieter servers first before setting out on the busier servers. For signalling specifically, never be afraid to step back in your learning path back to a quieter box until you’ve got your skills fully tuned, I often do this myself as an experienced player to remind myself what other locations next to me can and can’t do, or just to take a rest! If you’re constantly standing trains at reds or displaying Sz’s without good reason or don’t know what you’re doing you’ll soon get a name for yourself, and not in a good way! The best dispatchers (or signallers!) are the ones as a driver you don’t know are even there. Finally, if in doubt, ask! 11. What advice would you give to veteran players? Always keep learning, try something new by all means, but always learn from your mistakes. 12. What could the developers do better in your opinion? Communication is probably the top of the list, we normally don’t hear anything until there is a release/patch due it’d be nice to see what they’re currently working on. 13. Any final thoughts or comments you would like to share? Don’t eat yellow snow!

How did you discover SimRail and how long have you been playing? i discovered simrail on youtube and i play it 3 days after the release of the anticpier access i had the request to play but it accept me 2 days later 2. What was the first thing that made you think ‘yes, this is a game I want to play more’? The FR community with the discord that made me want to play more. 3. Do you think you would play SimRail as much if there was no multiplayer mode? if there was no multiplayer not at all 4. In a game about trains, there are a lot of idle moments. How do you manage them? I play stelwerk (online switching games) at the same time. 5. Do you listen to, watch or read anything else while you're playing? spotify and stelwerk at the same time 6. Do you have any rituals before or during the game? I look at the game map every time I play to see if there are any stoppages or delays, because I love the sauce. 7. Name one thing you like most about SimRail. The multiplayer 8. Name one thing that annoys you most about SimRail. people who call you on the radio to say nothing of interest, and invercently when you call a train or a signal box and the person doesn't answer you even in writing. 9. What is one thing, no matter how big or strange, that you would like to see added to the game? To be able to keep the same train and go back and forth and ESPECIALLY TO REMOVE SERVER RESETTINGS ESPECIALLY THE 4pm one !!!! 10. What advice would you give to new players? don't hesitate to ask for help on the radio, we're here to help too. 11. What advice would you give to veteran players? experienced players are there to help new players who are struggling 12. What do you think the developers could do better? Enable the rebound on a signal and the possibility of crossing it (of course you won't have to cross it, but it can happen, which is why you'll have to set up the radiostop at the same time). and to activate the RADIOSTOP for the drivers and signalmen and to add random incidents which might require all the trains in the sector to be stopped immediately.
