Oh wow, thanks @Irish Spud, that's a better map!
-
Great Vern! The live map is a way to get a longer service out of Warsaw or Katowice, or a freight on the new branch. https://panel.simrail.eu/main/map.html and pick the server you want. I'd deffo have a crack at the E186 tutorial too.
-
The E186 tutorial loaded coal train certainly feels heavy, with slow acceleration and greater wheelslip chances. The empty freight trains are a lot lighter in sim, so yes, weight do change, for sure Vern.
-
So be patient please, it's a brand new sim!

Vern, Before you start giving negative reviews to anyone who will listen, as you did with TSW3, take a breather and stop to think. This sim has literally just arrived in 'early access', not 24 hours old. Keep hold of it, I know you like the sim from your comments elsewhere, and give the devs time. DTG took years to give you the feature, why so negative here? Just give the SimKol team a fair go please

The sim crashed and froze (pale screen with the 'not responding' message) so I lowered my gfx to high, and it froze again - SimRail_log_2023-01-14_23-17-35.txt This log was En1 server. Crash after I upped the gfx setting to Ultra - SimRail_log_2023-01-15_00-54-28.txt I had no issues running the playtest on Ultra.

IRL it is up to the signaler and how close a faster service may be. Passenger trains always get priority of course. If a signaler deems an early running freight isn't the priority, then it goes "inside". Sitting a 30 minute early freight in a loop until departure time is correct, if it means less operational pain down the line. Follow the timetable, that's exactly what it's there for. The AI gets confused by players allowing freight services to run 30 to 60 minutes early.

Nice, but is it DX11 or 10..etc? Google didn't tell me. Looking forward to tweaking it

Has anyone tried reshade in Simrail yet? What engine does it utilize? I know it looks amazing, the night lighting is superb in this sim. I'm on Ultra with a 12600K and a 3080. Runs like a charm. I'd like to push the engine and see what happens, anyone had a play yet?

I’m always flicking a switch or button when trying to type in the chatbox. Muscle memory now has me looking at the floor and typing, so avoiding the background important stuff! This is an important feature in a multiplayer server, communication being key. Only a few have braved voice comms. How do other sims handle this? Run8 would be closest, or trucker simulator?

Heard the "Doh" whilst sat at signal E6 at Bedzin, 12.02 pm (in game time) on En1. Also again, approaching Sosnowiec Główny from Kat direction, En1.

Are there plans (if any) to include diesels in the future?
giBBer8 replied to Skully's topic in Suggestions for improvements
Even if they include your much vented "save game feature" Vern? You know full well that Steam is coming, so behave yourself 😆 -
Locomotive - car weird suspension (bad tracks)
giBBer8 replied to lDestinyl's topic in Issues archive
I noticed a little slack draw when departing a station the other day, and thought it very realistic. Perhaps not at those speeds shown though… -
Already reported previously, apologies.

Server En8. Selecting DPO for signal 2P, the screen turned white. Cancelling DPO restored the screen to normal.
-
Only noticed when both cabs passed the view, so deffo a light/mirror glitch.
-
The FB screen shots of Warsaw look fantastic. That's a lot of railway and infrastructure to model!

Hi Harold, we chatted the other day from our respective sim signal boxes. The only time you ask the next box for a line clearance is at junctions, so the interlock direction can be switched. Any other time, the simple "train xxxxx departed at hh:mm" will do. Even that isn't needed if the next box is AI controlled. I like to do it anyway, for completeness.

Speed limits and other location-based constraints?
giBBer8 replied to GlideBrick's topic in General Discussion
Well, no, in reality, you have to learn every aspect of the route your depot operates on. Grades, shunting manoeuvres, signals, braking points for stations, places where you may snap a freight train into 5 pieces etc. I'm talking UK at least, and it will be even more important in the US, South Africa and Australian Pilbara ops. There are no flight plates for approaches in trains. Every day is a different train, different weight distribution, brake force, isolated traction motors (so no dynamic brake) etc. Your route knowledge is key. If you can drive a train in Simrail without the HUD on at all, then you are 50% there. -
DCS does that very well with their track files. To my basic mind, it's a "save" of your actions in the play session, how every asset reacted to your movements, and of course, how you flew. The TRK file can also be loaded by the devs to see exactly what the reporters' issue was, to the second.

As far as I understood the context and meaning of your first sentence, it is garbage. Anarchy? Railway simulator... you fell down a large rabbit hole there Sean. Sorry to be so blunt, but this is very early days. English speakers gravitate to the "EN Beginners Server", which runs as intended, and is always full. There are plenty of other unused servers which can be utilised as "private" servers. Why not band together and get pro on the EN9 server....ping really doesn't matter. Playtest the quiet servers together, see who dislikes being left out, and if there is value in having private servers when the sim releases.
-
I can see your point on general release @pschlik, but as of now, there are plenty of servers with 1 or 2 players in. Lots of practise time with the AI. When Simrail releases, the SP version will be up and running, and the upcoming Playtest will stretch the theory of course. Private servers are good, but get very elitist, to the detriment of the willing player base.
