  1. Agreed @Gazz292 To answer the OP's thread, IVAO and VATSIM are indeed akin to signaling a railway, in so far as to keep the vessels apart. That's where it ends! The IVAO equivalent is what we have now in MP, Zawiercie controls a section, hands it off to Lazy...15 km away....no comparison. That does not need a 'pro' server for a train simulation!
  2. To be honest, I haven't come across any 'trolls' for weeks, on any En server. Having 'pro' servers is very elitist. How do you grade those who are allowed to touch the hallowed controls within? Professional railway people only? The envisaged mayhem on multiplayer hasn't happened, everyone seems genuinely invested into the Simrail package, yes people make mistakes, we all do. 'Pro' servers simply aren't needed, the last thing I want to see is the small community split off into little cliques, no thanks.
  3. No signals or speeds, but have a look at https://www.simrail.fr/ and choose your server. That shows you all the route, stations, player or bot controlled trains etc. As for learning speeds, have a look at Gazz292 signals and signage guide (stickied at the top of this forum) and learn how to read the signals. You can increase the intensity of the signal displays in the settings for easier viewing too! Happy motoring.
  4. I usually keep things 'as is', unless an early running freight is going to delay a following passenger, then I move that to line 3 if Katowice bound, or put over to a siding if Sosnowiec bound. No real right answer.
  5. Yes indeed @Aldarion. We must have all noticed something interesting, no matter how grand or mundane. Personally, I'd like to know more about the tower at Katowice, when and why it took that form. And then there is the large set of stairs over the railway somewhere out of Warsaw (can't remember exactly). Took some time to model, but what function do they serve IRL? Also modelled but perhaps rarely noticed, are the Katowice and Lazy engine shed and turntables...the history there must be interesting too!
  6. @BRChoose DX11, as suggested in post 5. Works for me. BTW, in vanilla Simrail, having Nvidia DLSS selected looks worse than without it? What do you think?
  7. TBH Darryl, the algorithm isn't going to suggest a similar topic to "Funny Looking Poles" eh 😆
  8. Passenger trains should never depart from a station stop early. Freight on the other hand can, as long as it wont delay a following passenger service, and you ask the next signaller if they can accept an early freight. As a freight train driver, it's a given that the train will be 'put inside' for a following faster train or three.
  9. Patch notes have the issue as resolved but rain still appearing on the train mesh (not station platforms) in Warsaw Centralna.
  10. I have G Shade working in Simrail, very simple process but haven't time at present to fiddle around with settings. @BRCould you share your Steam screenshots here for comparison, so we can dial in the best settings please, that would be great!
  11. G shade is a viable alternative, especially with its deep buffer unlocked. I can’t experiment this week as I’m away, but try to get it working using the presets…let us know please!
  12. With so much SimKol effort having gone into the frankly brilliant Polish routes, it would be great to learn more about this railway, how it was built the locos that are in sim etc., and the rationale for choosing the route. I know Wiki is there, but an 'in house' sim history would be awesome. I'm viewing this with the editor in mind also. My crystal ball can see threads for route building projects, with history and periods, with volunteer programs making track, assets etc. Project contributors giving updates on blender tips, reasons why etc. Much the same as the awesome SimKol team has done in building the route we now love. What are your thoughts on learning more about the railway we are driving on? In the future, would you like to see collaborative threads / projects? p.s Can someone translate and post in the PL section please?
  13. Well do it, would be great. I'd like to see some history of the line too, hopefully a knowledgeable Polish player will do a summary of the 2 routes.
  14. I haven't had any issue with any 'trolls' period. I haven't seen many who have, not withstanding the En1 server. Very popular and as advertised...."Beginners Only". As for the AI, I usually go to EN8 and drive away to my hearts content, the AI being great.
  15. Possibly a RAM issue with saving textures etc? Causes the stuttering in every OS. If this thing plays on Linux (I use Ubuntu for my astronomy stuff), I'll go Linux all day!
  16. There are only 2 Spanish servers though. I think you're dealing with new players who are learning. The English speaking servers have a dedicated "beginners" server, and many players go there as it's busy. The best place to learn is on a quiet server, En, DE, PL or whatever. The ping doesn't matter at all if dispatching.
  17. An honest question looking for an honest reply... Since the EA launch, have you encountered any mal-intent in your chosen server, during peak patronage? I hear of 'trolls' deliberately messing up a dispatch area in MP, and little evidence. I've played since mid-December and not had any issue whatsoever. I used to go to the En1 'beginners server' but now know my way around. I now use the other less populated servers, no issues. I really believe that 90% of the SimRail buyers are genuine rail sim fans and the servers will settle into a "sympathetic" way of thinking, and mistakes will be genuine. Up to now, this is my experience anyway. If you are getting stopped by "a newb lol", play in a quiet server. NO need for kicking.
  18. Yes, but a countdown timer on the server page would be great. Time zones are easy if you aren't hopping onto a game server to see how long is left before a wipe. Daylight savings into the mix also.
  19. Could we have a 'server reset countdown' so we can plan long or short runs?
  20. This is a suggestion forum Gazz, train enthusiasts putting ideas out there. I don't believe for a minute that SimKol are bereft of work and happy with their sim as is, in early access, so look here for inspiration. Rather, all these collective ideas are probably put in the "nice to have" folder and forgotten about until the base sim is as they'd like.
  21. Yes, the observations you made are good @pschlik. I believe the farmland type areas are all a wip. I had a night drive out of Warsaw to Psary, and the feeling of going from City, to suburbs and out into farmland was great. The track work and lighting at the Warsaw southern depot, plus out at Idzikowice and other areas we whisk past, are fab, especially at night, with passing traffic too. I hope the editor drops, I'm ready to create assets and make some collaborative routes!
  22. The whole drive out of Warsaw is fantastic. Those river bridges over the Vistula are great too. The assets SimKol have created are really well done, and seem like a city or town, not just a 1km block of generic assets. I'm not a 'fanboy', but the sounds are great, the night lighting is nice, and the huge route, plus branches are awesome.
  23. Yes, I went from Warsaw to Psary and the server reset on me. So that would be a great idea! One for the suggestions thread @Urgentemente
