Wait, do you pronounce the "ch" in "Chicago" like in "cheese" or like the "sh" in "s**t" - I mean, "shoot"?

By the "Chicago" sound, I meant the same sound you hear in "SHarp", "SHort", "SHame" and so on. Sorry for the confusion.

Nope! pronounce with <ou> is correct. However, its nominalisation, pronunciation, is spelt with <u> and pronounced accordingly.
