Is this just an optical thing or have they also added the weight of the goods? Personly i dont feel the weight of an 2500tons coal train in the game. Thanks for helping me with this question. Gazz292 Posted April 9, 2023 Share Posted April 9, 2023 From what i have read, yes they are weighted, but due to the timetables we are currently running being based on empty trains, the coal waggons are only loaded to ~30 tons each, otherwise the tracks would be clogged up with slow freights not able to keep to their timetables. When the new timetables are released, then the loads can/will be increased, as they will take into account fully loaded trains taking much longer to get up to speed and brake etc. 4 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

iPanuzzo Posted April 19, 2023 Share Posted April 19, 2023 A bit of offtopic, a bit not. In my opinion something is wrong with physics anyway. IRL driving the downhill requires trains to be under power to maintain speed, except for some mad grade values. In game, you may go 15km in neutral/applying brakes because the train always speeds up a bit. Speed increases with downhill and slows down on uphill as I expect. The momentum in trains has not been an issue for me at least. The weight of the cargo is also something that is very noticable when you have 1000t+ trains. Getting up to speed on an incline from red lights are fun 🙂 Especially the EU07/08 has been surprisingly fun to master and the Traxx is also a go-to train with the loaded freight trains🤩 Only train I have physics issues with, are the very strong brakes on the ET25 Dragon, tap once on the brake, and it will brake like emergency in other trains, but it could be realistic, I'm not qualified 🙂 I did not think in november that I would be driving 7000 km virtually in Poland jan-april 😄 (and using about the same amount of time doing stuff in Blender waiting for sdk ) Edited April 20, 2023 by Deadlost 2 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
giBBer8 Posted May 17, 2023 Share Posted May 17, 2023 (edited) The latest patch has brought new freight services and loco variants and I have to say that the brakes are releasing way too quickly on freight. The feeling of momentum is pretty good, but the brakes should be binding on the wagons (progressively releasing from front to rear) far slower than currently, perhaps up to 45 to 50 seconds from full release in the cab. This is regardless of the brake timing set in the loco. The loaded wagons should all have goods timings set in the distributors. If the Polish railways use triple valves, then it should be similar, but with the ability to 'throw away the air' with fanning the brake. This is my opinion of course, what do you all feel? The graduated-release Hik distributor is ~90 years old, and its successor KE was invented in 1953 and became the UIC standard not long afterwards. Re: goods timings: I’ve noticed that some trains have at least the locomotive running with brake setting (brake mode? what’s the English term?) G. Not sure about the cars, though. I noticed the empty coal hoppers EU07 loco is set to Pass timings, but as I say, the freight really seems way too fast to release in general.
