I am pretty sure the 13th is the release date missing some features build no matter what this will be called. I have to say, the Steam Store page is now a little confusing. The roadmap picture, etc.

The "Early access" is the playtest. According to the roadmap on the 13 the full version will be published and it should have all complete features

yet we know from other posts on the forum that it will be released in stages,  with extra features being released when they are ready,

So don't go expecting to get the steam train, the 1980's map for that (something i read, could be wrong) every train, the SDK's etc on the 13th.

The features that will be added later on after the 13 are editors, which they possibly be available in stage ( one editor at a time ) that has been said in the last Q&A, if nothing has changed since then, complete simulator features should be there

I would be shocked if that was the case.  I'll see what the price is and if it's too steep look for some other guiny pigs to produce a youtube video or at least something telling us what is included.

Thanks

Sean

It does say full release 13.01.23 on Steam. There cannot be any ambiguity about what "full" means.

gotta remember this is steam we're talking about,   the platform that makes up release dates and makes people angry when they find out the developer had no idea steam had published a release date etc.

Yeah fair play buddy. i hate Steam with a vengeance. If a game has alternate retail access, i always avoid buying from Steam.

While I would concur, the developers don't seem to agree. They specify that "currently in early access" ED250 and ET25 are avaible, which clearly arent in playtests. I am concerned what "More playable signal boxes" mean, hopefully Warsaw stations are avaible to dispatch on.

I don't know bprog. I visit these forums and always go away more confused than i was before.

Bit of a mess in my mind. The developers are very vague in regards a lot of aspects of the release.

No firm explanation or commitment as to what will be in the SP game. Which is the only bit i am interested in.

I'm pretty certain we are getting EA which is fine by me.  I'm curious did it say 500KM in the EA version?  Is that 250KM for the left and 250KM for the right track? 🙂  That is the only confusion I see on the image above.

Thanks

No we're currently in play test IKB. Early access is different and means you pay for the game and get the additional mileage of route and the extra trains. The devs will continue to develop the game while in early access to refine it. At least there's some transparency here - DTG as far as I am concerned, has TSW in early access indefinitely even if it's not labelled as such lol. We pay to test and give feedback and then they might even fix bugs if we're lucky.

We do need to know what SP will offer though, as there is no mention of it.

SP will be tutorials only with very little maybe something more @ start.

They talked about 10 singleplayer scenarios (missions) to start with, again this was said in the Q&A, plans in Q&A originally were:

Early access in 2, maximum 3 months, we got access on 7/12, in time with what has been said in the Q&A, they call it play test but basically is the same thing apart from 2 emu/loco hidden and a shorter distance route (and limitations with multiplayer timetable and singleplayer) I don't see anything wrong with a longer early access period, it can only bring further improvements to the simulator
