Glendathu Posted Friday at 09:23 AM Posted Friday at 09:23 AM I had this sometimes on several routes and yesterday I tried out the Łodz North routes where I also had lot's of 20km/h announcements on the HUD, which disappeared mostly before the distance counter reached 0. No speed restrictions followed but W6b signs (Sound Horn for Crossing). I don't know if it's a bug or a feature, so I didn't post it in the bug section yet. I haven't played Simrail for about half a year now and I don't remember that this occured before. When a 20 km/h announcement came I really had to stop! 1
Mikos Posted Friday at 04:02 PM Posted Friday at 04:02 PM If I remember correctly, railway crossings that are not closed have a speed restriction of 20kph. So the restriction will be shown until the railway crossing has closed and been confirmed. Why these crossings are slow, I don't know, but I've seen it on the new DLC as well. Not saying this is the issue here, could be a bug.
Glendathu Posted Saturday at 09:19 AM Author Posted Saturday at 09:19 AM ok, that's a lot of open crossings on Łódź North ! I wonder how a real traindriver can notice an open crossing at 120 km/h and then stop in time. Nearly impossible ?
Mikos Posted Saturday at 10:58 AM Posted Saturday at 10:58 AM Read "Level crossing distant signal" on this page. 1
BigVern Posted 9 hours ago Posted 9 hours ago Writing from the perspective of the PC version, but yes it can throw you and lead to late running as you throw the brakes in to get speed down then the restriction suddenly vanishes. It first became apparent on the Tunel route but the problem there was at least one or two of the locations did actually require you to slow down. And now it's endemic on the Lodz North Region. The developers really need to go back in and fix the timers on the crossings so they are closed sufficiently early not to throw up the error. To be honest anyway, even if the restriction is relevant, you lose less points for blasting through at line speed than the late running at subsequent stations which you will never recover. Anecdotally, there was a similar issue in TSW when the ECML Peterborough to Doncaster came out. Some of the level crossing timers meant doing 125 MPH in the Azuma, you were getting a double yellow signal, immediately followed by green again at the next one (never fixed by DTG).
