Hi,

I'm sorry if this will come off as rude. I understand that programming is an incredibly long and delicate process, which takes huge amounts of time and care.

But.

It's been more than two years since I joined the SimRail community; one of the key aspects that sold me the game was the possibility to operate a mechanical signalbox while some steam trains are running outside.

I understand why lever frames aren't ready yet. I'm fine with that.

However...

Would it be possible to actually see what has been made? To know what is missing? Is it 3D modelling? Programming? Sounds? Bugs? Glitches? Missing documentation? Issues to integrate it with SimRail game/internal mechanics? Since many of us paid upfront for an unfinished game and it's been more than two years now, could we please get more details about this? Maybe some screens of what has been done, what has been tried and failed, and, in general, what's going on?

Thanks 😅

Yeah, that's something I would like to know as well, along with shunting in multiplayer.

I tried twice to write a message here to ping the staff members who are most active on the forum, but my message has been deleted both times, without an explanation...

I tried to ask on Discord and @RealMiko just told me that this is counterproductive and the signalboxes are in development. Not really an answer to my precise and - I believe - polite question.

I do not know if some of the programming team is reading this post, but

Sim Rails probably biggest kompetitor Train Driver 2 update the requirements for their Dispatcher-mode.  Some (Mostly newer) PLayer like me are frustrated, because they finaly achieved the 400 km of train driving to unlock the dispatcher-mode. And now

they can't play as dispatcher again, till they achieved 1000 km of Train driving. Thats frustrating, and that is the reason why I deleted Train driver 2. I guess if Sim Rail would implement mechanical Signalboxes very soon, they would gain much more active PLayers 😉

yap they could solve that better like a tutorial or something 😄 hope that the test track in simrail get a tutorial for dispatching soon would be perfect for it 🙂 1 signalbox is the tutorial player and the other one on the otherside is a AI dispatcher

Pardon the ping after 5 months already, early ¿videos? and images showed already mechanichal signal boxes, dunno what went wrong from there to now. All that I know is that, when asking for mechanichal signal boxes you will just get a "we're working on it" and that's it, so yeah... Which is somewhat an insufficient answer to a lot of people.

It would be great to have some documentation about each signal box with its diagram, something similar to what we have in Spain, and I'm sure Poland also has:

Thanks for your reply, anyways, it should be part of the signal post menu.

Btw, is this the wiki you're refering to?

https://simrail.fandom.com/wiki/Katowice

I have made a suggestion topic about adding that in signalbox additional options. You can find it but in PL topics on forum.

Only valid link for wiki is wiki.simrail.eu.

Thanks for the reply, even though I very much welcome the main wiki and the information about actual posts, for me it's insufficient as it doesn't really explain you what you can/can't do in there, what routes are compatible/incompatible, etc. You still have to go through "trial & error" until you get accustomed to it by that procedure 😅.

For example, since the very beginning I'm using Semaforek site to the the "main situation" of the post, there I can find signals, cargo dock (if it still exists), information about tracks, etc. Despite the excellent info that the diagrams gives you there, no technical information about the post can be found at Semaforek, so yeah.

I only use the wiki that is made by the Simrail moderators/devopets, tha same one Lewnemejski mention. I did not even know, a fandom wiki existed.
