  1. Any chance we might get those additional devices in the game? Controlling crossings via the CCTV screen is cool, but it takes a second or two before the picture renders, which can be crucial when things get heated and you have a lot of trains to deal with. (For now I just keep crossings closed at all times, but that's not how it should be.)
  2. Same in Slovakia or Czechia (and a bunch of other railways). Drivers still look out of the window a) for safety reasons, b) to receive the dispatch signal from the conductor (the latter is not relevant in Poland where the dispatch signal is given via radio, but that's not the case in most of Europe). I appreciate that this is the way it's done in Poland and the simulation is realistic in this regard, but it's something to keep the mind on when expanding further outside Poland.
  3. But you can lean out if you stand up (which itself is allowed in SimRail), and many drivers seem to be doing it even on the "wrong side" during the departure (at least in countries neighbouring Poland, I'm not 100% sure if I saw it in PL itself).
  4. Good point, thanks. I imagine there's no other suitable slot for such a nonstop train (but perhaps it could be done with technical stop somewhere).
  5. Any idea why the lean out of window option is only available on the right side and not the left? 🙂
  6. Would it be possible to put Kibel on some of the 1460xx trains (ferry trains from Warsaw to Katowice)? This is a very nice unique service and it would be fun to have it available with world's favourite EMU as well 🙂 Also, any chance we may get a similar service in the other direction too?
  7. That doesn't work for this kind of issues, because when you deactivate the bot, it falls back to whatever setting you had before. Thanks everyone! I wish there were some troubleshooting manuals 🙂
  8. Any idea how to restart EN57 after it cuts power due to overspeeding? It happened to me recently on the line and I was able to coast to the next station but despite trying everything I could think of, it just refused to drive, no power was supplied.
  9. I believe it's used as a backup, i.e. no trains are scheduled to stop there, but it is kept operational and available for dispatchers to use.
  10. Is there any plan to make Katowice platform 5 available for trains? Currently it's not possible to use it, if you route a train there, it will not stop there to serve the station. Of course you can put a red signal, btu it won't count as a stop at the station.
  11. People often ask this question but I don't really see why it would be a problem. You could only play trains which you have purchased (or which are included in the base game). The rest would still appear, you just couldn't drive it. But I'm also curious about the whole business plan behind the game. Vehicle DLCs can somehow help keep the flow of money to run servers, but only to a point where you have so many types that you need to add more trains too. Maps DLCs don't solve anything because new map = new server, so even if it brings some money, it will also increase costs in the long term. And then there will be some players who will only buy one game, or one DLC and nothing more (e.g. people who only play their "home routes" - many Poles won't bother buying lines in Czechia). These people will keep generating costs forever, but will never bring more money. And the overal group of players who are like this will probably keep going up over the time. While I understand that pay-to-play model isn't popular, I think it's the only viable solution in the long term.
  12. One thing I would like to be more realistic is the dispatch signal. In SimRail, you just get the timer come down to zero and off you go. This is both unrealistic and frankly a bit boring, since you know when exactly will it be the time to depart (while in real life this is influence by number of factors). Interestingly, in singleplayer you get a radio call from the simulated conductor, telling you to depart. I'd love this implemented in multiplayer as well. However, it should also be noted that this will become much harder to do when the game expands to other states, since dispatch via radio is very rare in Europe. In Czechia it's normally done via hand signals, so they would need to make bots that would simulate that, and the driver would have to look out of the window (which is not even possible today). It works similarly in Germany on long-distance trains, whereas on local trains the driver dispatches the train himself (provided he has a green light of course).
  13. This will become relevant later when the game expands with maps from other countries. Connections generally aren't a thing in Poland, except some rare cases, and they will quite often hapilly dispatch a local train one minute before a long-distance train arrives.
  14. I was also wondering to what extent would the framework be applicable to other types of rail transport. In any case, it appears that MetroSim is in works by the same developers, there was a screenshot of Warsaw Metro posted somewhere recently. But I imagine that's years from the release. SimBus seams to be dead.
  15. I would very much welcome a single track line in SimRail, that would be fun to play, and much more prone to irregularities (i.e. trains out of sequence), thus providing more work for the dispatchers - so definitely thumbs up for that idea. The question is of course whether devs want to focus on more routes in Poland, or rather on other parts of the world (the latter option is better for players, and provides more commercial potential, but would also be harder to develop due to different rules, equipment, etc.).
  16. This is supposed to be a simulator and that's simply not how it works in the real life 😉
  17. Oh, that's an easy one. Flying Pendolino!
  18. This is a regional difference and hopefully it will be implemented when the game expands beyond Poland. SimRail simulates how things work in Poland very well, it's just different from how they work elsewhere.
  19. But how do you run a signalbox without using the timetable at all? There is "now" option of course - it's called confirm arrival/departure. The entire point of the large "enter time" dialog is to input another time than the current time.
  20. It crashes sometimes, but when you reload it, the data is still there. Confirming departure is very important for signallers further down the line.
  21. I understand the reasons why we won't have playable conductors (though it would be a lot of fun!), but I wonder whether there's a plan to add AI conductors. Their absense drastically reduces the realism for me when driving - departing with a TLK or EC just because some timer told me so, without the proper dispatch from the train crew just doesn't feel "right". In Poland, the dispatch is normally done via the radio, so that should be fairly easy to implement (ideally with some randomness as to when does conductor give the signal), in most other countries in Europe by hand signals.
  22. There are more stations where AI consistently ignores the timetable. Idzikowice has the opposite problem, they ignore technical stops for IC trains and always send them early, which is a big problem, because then they arrive early to Opoczno, which only has one platform and that's needed for a train in the opposite direction. Thus you have no choice than to hold the IC before the station (which should not normally happen), thus blocking the line if there's a faster train behind it.
  23. Is even that necessary? Surely a deadlock can be solved via another means. For example, two trains are on a same track in opposite directions (which is how most deadlocks happen), why not just remove those two trains from the map (the same way as when a train derails) instead of restarting the entire server? The same solution can be applied to other deadlock situations - just remove the trains that are causing it. Then we could only have some kind of a technical restart once a day, perhaps even less frequent.
  24. I'm experiencing issues with the game crashing at Idzikowice station. When I approach the station with a train, the game crashes. If I try to "log" onto that train again, it will crash again during the loading process. I can only proceed driving it again once the train is past the station. The game also crashes while loading the station in the dispatcher mode. Two logs are attached - the older one is from driving, the newer one is from the dispatch mode. SimRail_log_2023-06-20_11-57-59.txt SimRail_log_2023-06-20_21-22-39.txt
  25. The map.simrail.app does not seem to work properly for me - it only shows AI trains, the ones driven by human are not shown. Does anyone have the same problem?
