I've sat on this bug for a while, but see as I can't see anyone else has reported it I thought I would. On the left in cab timetable, the times are always 1 minute less than they should be, for passing, arriving and departure times. Also on the passengers screens when arriving into a station, but the countdown timer at the top right counts down to that shown in the EDR (official and unofficial ones) When passing a location "on time" according to the left HUD timetable, the sim actually reports back to you as being 1 early when it flashes up. So in the example below, the current time sim is 02:21, the departure time is 02:21 on the left timetable and on the passenger information screen, but the clock is counting down to 02:22 (which is also the time shown in the EDR) (No log file attached - happens with every train on sim - Bug present from way to to current version EA 09/03/2023 - 16:28)

Shortcut keys for signalman
DazT replied to Etun's topic in Suggestions for improvements [Multiplayer]
This is the best I've been able to cobble together on my Stream Deck, this is for Dabrowa Gornicza (only works for workstations where mouse co-ordinates never change), still work in progress, lots of storing mouse X.Y variables for other buttons to use, for example, you click the phone console for the box you wish to talk to as normal, but instead of faffing around finding the depart option on the menu, you simply press the 'Depart' button on the Stream Deck type the train number and then 'Send' and it does all the moving round into different boxes on the input screen in a flash. The difficult bit was passing different X,Y co-ordinates for the send button (the first button pressed stores the X,Y variable for Send for each of the three options and calls that variable behind the send button, firstly knowing which button you pressed first, 'Depart', Receive' or' 'Send' and secondly where the send button actually is on the screen as it's in different places for 'Depart' 'Is line xxx clear for' and the 'Line xxx is clear for'. This process would be so much easier if each adjacent signal box had it's own shortcut to bring the menu of options up, that'd cut out the first step of having to click the one-touch button on the phone altogether! The level crossing controls went on today, so if you want to raise or lower say Xing 300.015 (the foot crossing outside the box) you first navigate to the workstation view, then press 'Xing 300', then the lower button (the down arrow), and the mouse flies round the screen, clicks the crossing, then clicks ZAMK and then execute in all about 50ms (I could speed it up but you need to give the UI to have chance to keep up!). Certainly saves time of having to click here there and everywhere yourself! 😂 -
You can run up and tap back (TM!) which I sometimes do. So you start to do the quick run up normal and as the amps start getting higher towards in either taps 28 or 43 you can tap back singularly so that it doesn't trip out, you have to be quick though!
-
When I found it, it was like I was driving a different loco! It's only really useable to run back up if you're already moving at some speed, otherwise it'll just trip out, depends on speed, gradient etc, with some practice though you'll get to know what speeds you can do it at, sometimes you forget though, I have been known to just swear "FFS!" lol

Is there an advanced dispatching guide ?
DazT replied to GHKtruc's topic in General Discussion [Multiplayer]
Hence why we call it running "bang road" in the UK running against the normal flow of traffic in the wrong direction, as if you mess it up a BANG is what you're going to hear! -
At present when you're working a dispatch station it is only possible to call the adjacent dispatch station(s), A good improvement would be able to use the dial pad on the telephone to call any dispatch station within the simulation, which could be used for example to get approval of running a train early a few boxes ahead where it doesn't affect intermediate boxes but may affect them.

Ah that would explain why mine is right shift then, as I've got WASD for walking movement instead of whatever the default was, so left hand does those and right shift is used by the right hand I only changed all mine as all the old MSTS keybinds are in long term memory now (and I'm getting older now), the only key change like you say is the extra brake running key which is "#" on mine (or a special 'Brake Running' on the Stream Deck, ironically brake releaser and emergency brake is / and * on the numpad on mine (or a button on the Stream deck)
-
Oh that's the first thing I changed! The default SimRail keys are horrendous (more so if you're on a laptop that doesn't have a numeric keypad!)
-
And another tip that I only found by accident on the EP07/08s for faster run down of notches is to hold down the right shift and whatever key you've got set for reduce power (on mine it's D, as that's from MSTS days) Also works the other way so long as you go into notch 1 first, then hold <Right Shift> and then whatever your accelerate key is (mine is A), so you can go from 0 to 1 to 28 to 43 in about 5 seconds (dependant on speed, watch those Amps! Motor overload button is desirable please devs! 😂)

I've reported a few train times wrongly on the EDR because of this as I use a real clock which always used to match the in-sim one 🤣
-
Cheers both, yep, I think I'll steer clear of using it for the ECs in either direction
-
I'd still be reluctant to route one on there or accept the route myself if it means stopping with millimetre precision
-
Does the whole train fit on the platform face though?
-
I'd say the side platform at Sosnowiec Główny as it's shorter than the main island, and it's doubtful you'll get a full rake EC on there. Next time you're about we can try it and find out! Zawiercie though, any platform works.
-
And the platform is long enough to accommodate the train fully

You've missed a bit, the mandatory radio call to dispatchers for 30km of greens ahead and the magic word priority 🤣 -
This is why I returned your game.

Ah yes, sorry I'll get back under my rock 🤣 -

I've had this happen before when transferring between TLK trains about a week ago at Zawiercie, but I've now had the same happen with two EC trains. If you drive from Katowice to Zawiercie and then stop at Zawiercie, the stop timer will then start to count down to 0:00, before it does exit back to the main menu to cut the scenario short and re-join multiplayer with the intention of driving a southbound EC due into Zw at just before the half hour and due to depart at **:37. The train you exited will be seen standing at Zw opposite and the train will then be stuck there until someone (human) moves it. I've included the log file, unfortunately as I've not quit out of the game it's 71mb and over 12hours of play! First train driven to recreate was EC41100 Katowice to Zw, second is EC14147 Zw to Katowice, third me re-entering EC41100 letting the station stop timer count down to 0:00, moving away and then activating the bot driver to fix. Not sure if it makes a difference (probably doesn't), first train had it's Train Heating Switch in the on position. More keybinds! (aka pretty buttons with a lazy button!)
DazT replied to DazT's topic in General Discussion [Multiplayer]
Best investment I got besides the pretty buttons was a cheap foot pedal off Amazon, originally for acknowledging SIFA in that other game, but works just a well for acknowledging the CA/SHP in SimRail. Comes into it's own if you're doing those 4 hour runs you can just lounge back with one foot on the floor tapping away 🤣 -
What does it do at midnight though, 24 bells or none? 🤣
-
Well, you say that............ Not a track closure but someone had managed to cause carnage (NOT the person in the picture btw) had managed to mess up DG, it took 2 hours to clear this mess in the end. I'm not saying how they did it as I don't want to encourage others to do it.
