It sounds like the train is rolling over rail joints with a very small spacing between them, and looking from the outside you can see the train pops as this happens. It kept on going with the same intensity for a couple of hundred meters. I've encountered this in the EU07 a while back too, but I did not record it. I'm pretty sure it was in the same area, but I was going east instead of west that time. Video recorded between Slawkow and Dabrowa Gornicza Wschodnia at around hectometer sign 63,6: oscillations-slawkow-dabrowa-gornicza-wschodnia.mp4

Someone posted the lengths here 😉

After hectometer sign 15,1 going east after Jezowka there's what seems to be a false 50 km/h W8 speed limit sign that should've been showing 70 instead: You meet a 70 km/h W27a speed limit sign at 14,0: The 50 limit on the left side in the above screenshot has a corresponding W8 sign further back showing the correct speed.

Excellent work guys! I came across a speed limit that was not present in this timetable for the 42900 trains. When departing to the east from Wolbrom there's a 40 limit that begins after 20,3 and ends at 20,2. See attached screenshots (1-3) EDIT: Also, in the same table it seems that the Tunel platform should be at 0,0 and not 1,5 (see images 4 and 5 below) Looking north-east: Looking south-west:

For those unaware there are community made timetables available in the Early Access forum. I've tried out this timetable and it's a game changer:

How did the idea to create SimRail come about?
weezzah replied to m61's topic in General Discussion [Singleplayer]
English translation with Google Translate: Interviewer: Railway enthusiasts of all ages dream of driving a train themselves, be it freight or passenger. Over the years, numerous railway simulators available as computer games have tried to fulfill such dreams. In January 2023, to a wide range of players. Sim was able to play a railway simulator with Polish trains and Polish routes. One of the destinations that can be reached by train in Sim Rail is Katowice. It is there that the creators of the game are based. We decided to visit them. Sim Rail became a hit on the Steam platform for a reason and not only because of the popularity of this game among Polish railway enthusiasts. The game is already translated into many languages, including Chinese, and there is no shortage of players from all over the world on foreign language servers, and it's no wonder. This is because it is the first railway simulator that accurately reflects many activities required to start and drive a vehicle. It is also the first game in the world that gives you the opportunity to play the role of a traffic controller at stations or traffic posts in Silesia and at the Central Railway Main Line connecting the south of Poland with Warsaw. Enough of our talking. Let's hear what the creators of this hit production, our company, have to say? Szot: Our company also creates professional training simulators. And that would be the beginning of our activities. In 2020, the idea arose that the software we use for training purposes should also be used for entertainment purposes. There was a very big boom on Gaming back then. So we contacted Play, which is a kind of business angel. When it comes to computer games, and the idea of creating such a railway simulator was very popular in play. Well, that's how it started. Many of the people who are involved in the creation of the game had or still have professional dealings with railways. Engineers on duty train managers since the game's release. Interviewer: Since its release, the game has been downloaded by 20,000 people. This number, as well as the number of positive reviews, is constantly growing. Users contribute a lot to the work on improving the game. Kajzer: Feedback comes instantly on all news channels, both on Facebook and on the Steam website. On our forum, where we get a lot of submissions, simran is an early access game, so some glitches and bugs still happen. But basically every week we release a big patch that fixes the issues. Largely reported by users. Interviewer: How many kilometers and on what routes can you currently drive in the game? Szot: At the moment, we have nearly 500 km of routes, this is the route from Katowice to Warsaw via the Central Railway Main Line. There you can try your hand both in older vehicles and develop a speed of up to 200 km/h in the Pendolino. For lovers of such routes of a more older climate, we have a line. I can see it, Sędziszów, including local lines in Silesia. And there we already have such lower speeds of 40 60 100 km/h and here it is interesting. Interviewer: And here's an interesting fact: the work on creating the EU 0 7 locomotive in virtual reality lasted several months, and this is only one of the elements of the game. The thirty-strong Sim Rail team does a really painstaking job to recreate the routes and vehicles and their physics. Dragon: We search a lot on the Internet, of course we don't go to physical libraries, we rather focus on such a virtual, virtual world, because everything is there, but a large part of our work is just looking for information, looking for photos. If we are at a dead end, fortunately we have colleagues at work who are professionally active on the railways, so we can always use their knowledge. Interviewer: And what was the biggest challenge in developing Sim Rail? Skwara: One of the biggest challenges we faced was implementing the ETCS level 1 and level 2 system and making it available in singleplayer so that players could drive trains at speeds over 160 km/h. Interviewer: The game has gained popularity not only among railway enthusiasts, but also among railway workers. Sim Rail is an evening entertainment for employees of, among others, the Lower Silesian railways, and they play games that plan timetables. Henszel: I really got to know it at the stage when its first version came out, still as a prologue as a demo version. Even then I felt that this simulator would be something really good. Something that has a chance to become something that can conquer the market suits me very well here. First of all, I really like the fact that, apart from the ride itself, there is also this envelope of exiting the machine, going around the composition of the passage on the platforms. This is so unusual in driving simulators. Interviewer: When you play Sim Rail in virtual space, you can also meet drivers of the Lower Silesian Railways. Szymkow: The phenomenon of this game. It's just a multiplayer game. I'm meeting friends. And we can have various random situations here, which usually don't happen to us during an ordinary day at work. We can test it here. We have contact with other players here, we can play as a traffic controller, so we can also see this railway from another side. The only downside is that there are no trains of the Lower Silesian Railways here. What I really hope will change eventually. Interviewer: Exactly, is there a chance that the white and yellow trains of the Lower Silesian Railways and the routes of our region will go to virtual world? Szot: Simulators are very popular in Germany. So we are considering the possibility of simply combining the Polish and German tours. And perhaps it will be located partly in Lower Silesia. Your trains run through the border crossing in Gerlic. As far as I know, so there's a very good chance those lineups won't show up. Interviewer: Well, we all keep our fingers crossed for Sim Rail to develop exactly in the direction they set for themselves. We also hope that there is no. Dolnośląskie trails are coming. -

Add some cctv for dispatchers to use.
weezzah replied to Landsnes22's topic in Suggestions for improvements [Multiplayer]
Maybe not exactly CCTV screens, but having more camera options for the dispatchers have been suggested before, and I think dispatchers deserve to have at least the same camera features a driver has. And remember, they're completely optional. If you want to dispatch in first person only then you can. Could use fixed camera views like we have in the wagons at the moment with the 4 and 5 keys. Maybe add a filter to emulate a TV screen, black and white, static noise, lower res, things like that. There are cameras on many of the platforms, but who's watching? Dispatch? Security? Would certainly add to the experience and part of the fun is the train spotting too 🙂 -
I've noticed while walking on several stairs around the map that the entries or exits into the stairs are not always that smooth. Sometimes you're even fully stopped and left thinking there's an invisible wall there. Here's from platform 3 at Katowice: katowice-platform-3-stairs-collision.mp4 Running or jumping usually gets you through

The floor collision is below the tracks on the north-west side of Warszawa Centralna. As you can see here I'm low to the ground and I was not able to jump onto the platform from here: This screenshot is showing the north-west exit and the low floor collision is straight ahead:

If it's too long then you can jump into a multiplayer server, drive a couple of stations in your favorite area and still get paid XP 😎 Just for the record, I'm still on team save-feature

In the train driver scenarios where there are pre-recorded driver/dispatch audio you can contact the dispatcher on any radio channel and still get contact. This screenshot is from the beginning of a train driver scenario where there are radio channel signs outside, but the radio contact is successful regardless channel setting. You can also cycle through the channels and contact remains: Another suggestion is that the basic tutorials could be improved for beginners by adding a radio tuning step prior to contacting the dispatcher e.g. "Select radio channel 2". This will prepare them for multiplayer.

Pixelated platform texture

Here's a video from said platform showing that it's not on par with the other platforms: low-res-platform.mp4 -
Pixelated platform texture
weezzah replied to weezzah's topic in Suggestions for improvements [Singleplayer]
Btw, you could mention that the raindrops looks like they're aligned to a grid, as in they align symmetrically 😉 But in regards to the low res platform: Notice the resolution differences between the 3 last images and the blurry platform. It's quite noticeable when you drive between them. -
Pixelated platform texture
weezzah replied to weezzah's topic in Suggestions for improvements [Singleplayer]
Yeah, could be. The screenshot is from a few weeks back, but when I noticed it again yesterday I got reminded to create a thread about it. Should've grabbed a fresh one, but I had places to go and passengers to move! Edit: I found a screenshot that I took yesterday because I thought it looked low res, especially the big cracks. I also thought the albedo wasn't as good as on the other platforms when I took a stroll on it: It's not on par with the other platform textures that are crisp, not that it has to be that high res and crisp but it's noticeably lower res. Here are some existing attachments I have for comparison: -
Most platform textures look nice, but there's one that looks pixelated and not very good especially under these lighting conditions. At first glance it looks like the strength of the normal map could be turned down a bit. There's definitely room for improvements I think:

funny things you saw in SimRail ?
weezzah replied to sf_giants15's topic in General Discussion [Multiplayer]
Looked through my screenshots and found this of some friends enjoying the cement jacuzzi: A group of people on an excursion: We have to appreciate this bug while we still have it because one day it'll be gone... 😉 -
You can get a general notion of the line speeds on OpenRailwayMap by selecting Max Speeds in the menu to the left. But a timetable like this would answer all of your questions. Maybe we'll get this information shown in the SimRail timetable some day in the future. It's been requested a couple of times. If you learn what the signals and signs look like and mean then there's no need for the HUD in regards to speeds. Once you know them you can just read every sign and signal you pass and you're good. Can get busy sometimes like with overlapping speed begin and end signs, but apart from that there's usually time enough to meet the speed restrictions.
