Pantograph rules?

Recommended Posts

We had a discussion recently on Discord about the front pantograph usage for freight trains with dangerous cargo. You can see an example on one of the graphics from the Cargo DLC.

Is there an official rule in Poland saying about using the front pantograph for those?

Even if it is not in Poland, in the German regulations for train crews (called: "Betriebsregelwerk") you can find the following overview, which I have translated for you.

I think there are similar regulations in Poland.

I was instructed by other colleagues not to use front pantograph in regular operations. You can use it if there's a second loco behind you or (if it's a old type loco like ET22 or EU07) when you're starting from a station with a heavy freight train.

The screenshot you posted was made by me. I used front pantograph because for me as a German it looks weird to raise back pantograph with tank cars 😄 Like Tobias wrote, here we have some regulations for this and I am adapting our German rules to SimRail, nothing "official"
