SIMRAIL Team Sui Posted December 7, 2022 SIMRAIL Team Share Posted December 7, 2022 Not sure if I would classify it as Linux support (different people have different meaning on what "Linux support" is), but it should run via Proton. At least the build from over a month ago did when using GE-Proton 7-34 on my Steam Deck - haven't had much time to test since, though.
Schyrsivochter
Since the game uses the Unity engine anyway, which is, you know – well-known for having broad platform support – I don’t see any reason why there shouldn’t be a proper native Linux/SteamOS version. Because we use some native code libraries, which need to be separately compiled for each system - some external components have them already, but some don't. We also have some dll import dependencies, which are never going to work natively on Linux (unless Proton itself translates them) and those would have to be rewritten completely.
