Bescot Posted December 16, 2022 Posted December 16, 2022 If a live player signals a train the wrong way, and the train takes that route it will stop at the exit point of the post and never move again - causing massive log jams. We really need the game to stop wrong routing with a message saying "Train **** has been routed the wrong way - please correct the route" or such like. Here is an example. I looked at SG at 10.34 today. The highlighted train 42108 was sat at the exit point towards Bedzin. This train should have been routed from KZ to SP via LK660. The train was timed to go through LK660 at 04.35 and had been there for 6 hours. The whole area from KZ to B was grid locked.
SIMRAIL Team uetam Posted December 18, 2022 SIMRAIL Team Posted December 18, 2022 We are working on a in-game solution that will strongly reduce or completly block such situations. 3
Bescot Posted December 21, 2022 Author Posted December 21, 2022 Since the online map was released it's become very clear the traffic jams at DGz and La are actually caused by live dispatchers down at Sg sending Sp trains up line 1 in error. Another example; 42918 continued off path then died here:
BigVern Posted December 21, 2022 Posted December 21, 2022 AI trains at least need to stop and challenge the route. Player a bit different as you might not know to query it, unlike in the real world.
SurvivorSean Posted December 21, 2022 Posted December 21, 2022 Is this happening on the non busy servers? As I mentioned before they seem to be smooth but I haven't analyzed the maps.
Skully Posted December 21, 2022 Posted December 21, 2022 We had a similar situation last night but were able to have Bedzin dispatcher accept the train and park it. Maybe this one was shunted forward. If a wrong routed (AI) train just keeps going there should be no real problem.
Howky Posted December 21, 2022 Posted December 21, 2022 And don't these problems arise somewhere else? Yes, the problems are in the operator, but it hasn't been written anywhere properly. How to operate the stations. I have not found anywhere, for example, a description of the dispatcher's PC and the dispatcher's timetable. etc. Honestly, in real life, the dispatcher can also misdispatch a train by his mistake. So isn't this already a way around the problem? Wouldn't it be better to modify the train table for the dispatcher to currently see at which signal the train is standing at, and add there which signal it should e.g. go to ? ? 1
Fightdrug Posted December 21, 2022 Posted December 21, 2022 hmmm... thats normaly the REG ? cant bedzin dont tell the player that drive the REG that he change the direction and send it back then ^^
-1PARA-AlexKall Posted December 21, 2022 Posted December 21, 2022 Just now, Fightdrug said: hmmm... thats normaly the REG ? cant bedzin dont tell the player that drive the REG that he change the direction and send it back then ^^ Technically if it's a player and they are willing to do so but it could be an AI train, we can't tell AI to reverse.
Averrnor Posted December 21, 2022 Posted December 21, 2022 (edited) I believe it is caused by fact that some live dispatchers do not know that SG has two posts in drop list on the timetable screen. At the beginning I was confused with it either until finding out this feature. Edited December 21, 2022 by Averrnor 1

SurvivorSean Posted December 21, 2022 Posted December 21, 2022 There are also trains that don't appear on the schedule I notice show up at Lazy LC. I just keep sending it forward. Thanks Sean

Skully Posted December 21, 2022 Posted December 21, 2022 Dispatchers can always make mistakes and this is what makes for extra challenges. I would love to see it possible to see a wrongly routed train having to do a run-around or go out of service until the return needs to be formed. As in real life, it can happen and a solution needs to be found. Maybe multi-route posts should be reserved for higher level dispatchers (assuming XP scoring works)?
SurvivorSean Posted December 21, 2022 Posted December 21, 2022 But the AI did handle it at the next station.
Pixelade Posted December 21, 2022 Posted December 21, 2022 human dispatcher on the server but no reponse and jammed up signal block... if these players are going AFK, and the bots that take over them are unable to handle a few late trains, then why aren't these players being kicked after being AFK for so long? Would like another human dispatcher to come onto the server to help fix this but whoever is there now isn't communicating at all... There needs to be 2 minute AFK warning, 5 minute KICK.
