So a peculiar thing happened yesterday, after I've encountered this lovely effect when it started raining:

Shimmering.thumb.jpg.725345f265b36979532b7187eb547615.jpg

And I realized something - you can go into your graphics settings (careful with vigilance, pretty sure it's muted on Options screen), scroll down to Lighting Quality, change it to any other setting (if it's Ultra, set to High, if it's High, set to Low, Low set to High, etc.), hit Apply. You should see the white shimmering disappear as soon as the change is applied. Now, feel free to change the lighting quality back to it's initial setting. Voila - no shimmering, no quality loss.

Mentioned this in another thread as IMHO a bit overdone and the flickering could trigger issues in people vulnerable to visual disturbance such as optical (aura) migraine etc. I will try this fix but ultimately something the devs need to review having in the final build.

Oh without a doubt. The fix is just so that the ones amongst us that have problems with flashing lights could still keep testing, instead of having to quit out of the game every time it starts raining.

That's a bug and a particularly nasty one, that takes days to figure out (not to mention at least I am currently a bit overwhelmed with adding missing features and fixing other bugs to have another look at this one and I expect so are other programmers). You may be able to work around it by going to options and changing scaling option to FSR or DLSS - but obviously this isn't a solution and we will have to figure out exactly what causes it and fix it.

Sorry for the issues, though. I know it's very annoying.

That screenshot was taken with FSR on....

That's not what I meant - I meant, that disabling and then re-enabling FSR or DLSS (or possibly even changing one of its settings) should make the issue go away until the next visit in the menus. Again though - this is not a solution to a problem, just a workaround, which should be less annoying than quitting the session all together.

Me doing this on a 4K upload and everything full on with DLSS on quality does not account for this bug.Me doing this on a 4K upload and everything full on with DLSS on quality does not account for this bug. I don't use FSR and there's probably a bug there.

Say what?

I think the translator translated it wrong. I'm saying it's most likely FSR. I'm trying to make the job of locating the problem easier.

No, it's not, cause it happens regardless if FSR is on or not.

I've seen it with more than one person. I haven't encountered this once in 15 hours of play. Didn't it say somewhere that you have AMD graphics?

This has been fixed for me since yesterday's update.  We now see rain and the shimmering effect is gone.  My settings are currently default medium though I'm tempted to try and raise them a bit since this team is hard at work listening to the issues and requests then implementing solutions.

Thanks

For me it's fixed half the time. I now constantly use my washer, like throughout an hour trip I will use it like 4 times, and the first 2 times I do it it's gonna be bugged out, whilst the latter ones will be fine. I have been trying to find the rhyme or reason behind it but to no success.
