Captain Morgan
Hello everyone! I've driven quiet some High-Speed services and over all that time one thing has botherd me a bit. Im talking about blinking green signals which exsist to warn you of a yellow signal in the next block. The problem i have is that a blinking green signal is porterayed as a normal green signal instead of a blinking one in the HUD. Its nothing huge i know but it would be quiet nice to have the HUD show you the signal is blinking. Espeacially with high speed services i found myself slaming the brakes pretty hard when i only started breaking at yellow because i didnt realize it was a blinking signal in time due to my grapics settings not being the best. Anyways, i think it would be a good implementation. What do you think? Edited August 22, 2023 by Captain Morgan
SIMRAIL Team GoppelPL Posted August 24, 2023 SIMRAIL Team Share Posted August 24, 2023 We talked about it in the very first days of SimRail Playtests - the HUD is for the initial level users to use, so red=stop, yellow=prepare to stop, green=go. It also allows us to implement many other (foreign) signalling systems. The players (mostly) agreed with us and it has stayed that way ever since. 2
Masterczulki
The lack of a flashing light in the HUD replicates what you know from the previous signal. There is no signal that says the next signal is a green flashing one. You don't know that the green signal is blinking until you drive past it. Besides, from the green flashing to the red signal you still have two more intervals, enough to brake. Besides, if I remember correctly, high-speed train sets will get the ECTS system.
