Hi,

First of all i want to say SimRail is a great simulator, it's brand new concept on train simulators and i love it.

I have played some hours on this game and I have realised that the comunication between dispatcher and trains drivers is a bit difficult. My suggestion is the creation of an option on the radio to have direct comunication between dispatcher and a train. Now it's possible with the general voice chat with the press for talk button but i think it's so difficult to talk because there is plenty of comunications and sometimes there is a mix with people talking at the same time.

Greetings.

It would also be good if you could speak locally. As far as I know, voice chat has a range of 10 kilometers. It would be good to have an option to talk only in close range.

A mute function would also be beneficial as I've already come across some toxic users and the full release isn't here yet.

I think you can mute and report players from player list (press TAB)

For dispatchers you can pick up the phone and talk to the next operator (no push to talk).  But other than that no other option for what you're looking for.

Thanks

Do Polish trains have a mobile phone on board? In Spain we have the radiotelephony (tren tierra) to communicate with the dispatchers at the CTC and in some other  railway companies (regional railways), trains do have also a mobile phone, some stations can call the train and vice versa. But I think in general, trains can only communicate with as I said, dispatchers at the CTC (not stations).

Railway communication for drivers is mostly done via the radiotelefone. It allows to communicate with other trains, signal boxes and guards. Calls are not private, everybody in the radio chanel can actually hear those talks.
I assume that it is different on lines that are equipped with GSM-R. Communication there works technically similar to civil mobile phones and people do not communicate in open channels but in single phone calls, but those are mostly not mobile phones.

In my country train drivers have mobile phones to communicate with the train staff and their (vehicle/transportation) dispatch, maybe they use it like that in Poland too.

i personally like the open radio thing, you get to hear the convo's between other drivers and the signal box, and you can learn information that may apply to you a little later on down the line,.

I like localized traffic better.  The one thing I could not stand on certain Run8 servers was the constant "hey how's it going" by everyone on the server when someone showed up.

Perhaps as an option create a raido channel that has full system availability (or even an option within the radio interface).  I certainly don't want this to become a social club like some servers.

Thanks

Sean

Wait until 2020 2022 2023 2025 then, the GSM-R system is to be implemented in the country by then and it will be the end of the idle chatting with each other on the radio. Until then the analog radio is used and sometimes you need to shut chatty drivers/conductors/dispatchers up to tell something important.
