I was thinking if people would like to have a second chat channel for the whole server just for non professional banter.

I find sometimes people do like to chit chat and while it is a lovely experience, the radio channel can and does get cluttered sometimes.

It's not the worst idea in the world.

However it does not match what the game/simulator is trying to offer, which is realism (as much as possible, at least).

Me yelling 'Muchas gracias afición esto es para vosotros, SIUUUUUU' every time I see you, will not be received well by someone who plays in a professional way.

So it's a bit contradicting to the game's standards, but I don't mind if we do get a 2nd chat or not, sometimes a little banter doesn't hurt much.

Yeah, I do agree with you, a 2nd chat would enforce the current one to stay profresional and realistic. Right now it is always 'what is enough enough?' and 'too much, too much?'.

Im taking the idea from IVAO/Vatsim, radio voice is 100% dedicated, but you can have private chats while ingame.

This is really good idea. I would like to see two types of the chats:

1) Chat with all online players on the server

2) Chat with players near you (~15 km - same as now)

Sounds like we can simulate drivers pulling out personal cell phones. I think most dispatcher post already has a phone on the desk already so this would give them some functionality.

would be cool when we get a extra chat window with the driver that need to shunt at your station later 😄
