sampisa
I think that it could be a good idea to add further details when, as a driver, the list of available trains/scenarios to choose from is proposed: currently there is just the train number and a short abbreviation (E.g. 42126 "TLK"). it might be worth adding more details to each entry, in particular the scenario duration and the train type. E.g. 42126 "TLK" - 4E, passenger, 00:42 Thanks.
DazT
Direction of travel would be nice too, and/or even showing the start and end point on the map would be even better! At present you don't really know where the trains are coming from and going until you've been playing it for a few weeks. 1
SIMRAIL Team GoppelPL Posted March 21, 2023 SIMRAIL Team Share Posted March 21, 2023 In the current testing beta, there are informations about the train's full route and its next station. If everything goes well, this should become available for all in the next update 🙂 4

Detailed information is very lacking, please implement it.
SIMRAIL Team GoppelPL Posted March 21, 2023 SIMRAIL Team Share Posted March 21, 2023 It should, but that would require redoing the whole train selection screen. For now you'll get the train's route and roughly its position, as well as the already existing informations about the train number, its type (EIJ, ROJ, RAJ, TLE, LTE etc.) and how much driving time is left. I believe it will make it easier for you to choose the train you want to drive. 4

I believe it will make it easier for you to choose the train you want to drive. I agree it would require a complete redo and the priorities are somewhere else now, but try to consider it. The driver of a freight train needs to know how much the train weighs and how long it is (misinformation has caused major accidents in the past). For a passenger train, I would like to know where to stop on the platform (length of the train). This is basic information I think we have no way of knowing. Just don't forget the less experienced players, they must be confused by the game. In the train list I would put a hint what train means: EC express, PWE empty passenger cars etc... I try to find the information, but a person trying to get into the world of railways too in the game is not easy. Don't be afraid to give people information (tutorial on signals, markings.. and history). I'm just an enthusiast and I had to look up a lot of information about Polish railways. Sorry for the little digression. Edited March 21, 2023 by lDestinyl
SIMRAIL Team GoppelPL Posted March 21, 2023 SIMRAIL Team Share Posted March 21, 2023 As you've said, these informations are key for the driver, and they need to be there. They will, when we introduce the proper timetable sheet - if not in the menu, then at least in the schedule. For now it has to stay the same, but we've made a little improvement so you don't need to check on the map where is the train you'd like to take over, as many of you requested. For the train categories - when the info about its lenght and weight will be there, they will be pretty self-explanatory. We simply can't do everything at once, but we're on our way.
