jmluengor
I cannot use the letter E when I communicate in writing with the traffic control post (I do not have a microphone and fortunately I am not mute), because if I do I get up from the driving position. I imagine that, if I press the letters H, J, L, M... It happens that the horn will be activated, the lighting will be switched on or off, and the circuit breaker will be closed. Pressing these letters does not affect the game in itself, but getting up from the driving position is not the best idea. I propose to use the 4 of the numeric keypad or some function key (F7... F10) that are not assigned any function in the simulator or any keyboard shortcut. The letter used to get out of the cockpit cannot be used in any alphabet of the languages for which the simulator is translated. That will always be a problem. Thank you for your attention. Greetings, SimRail team.
Gazz292
Are you sure you have clicked in the chat box properly? I set up letter Q to activate my chat box (in the controls menu) So i press that letter and all other controls stop working as the chat box typing part is activated, I can type any letters i want and they become the message i go on to send and don't affect anything in the cab until i click back in the cab or press escape.. i often send messages asking 'how long will i be held at this red signal?' which has a few 'E's' in it, and i've not once stood up from my seat ...... Ot a bit, but It would be nice to auto exit the chat box after pressing enter to send the message, i can always press the Q key again if i need to send a 2 line message etc. I did notice that the shp/cuzak reset no longer works when pressed whilst typing, so i need to escape from the message to reset it then go back to typing if i'm moving (i have a mic, but hate speaking, text based comms is 90% of how i communicate in every day life. 1
jmluengor
Thanks, Gazz292. I have followed your advice and activated the Q as an option to start the chat.
