Bescot Posted January 24, 2023 Posted January 24, 2023 Can I query the brakes on the Dragon + flat wagons? The MINIMUM train brake setting is very forceful (and gives a 0,5bar reduction) and is VERY quick to apply 8% down the whole train. I know little about this loco, but could it be checked that brake type is set to freight and not rapid, and if the force is correct? If you compare it to the E186 + coal hopper wagons they behave more like I'd expect, where the air takes a while to propagate and the brake pipe reduction is delayed due to this. The dragon + flats seems to brake more like an EP, which I doubt is realistic. 4
Bescot Posted January 30, 2023 Author Posted January 30, 2023 Nobody wants to comment on this? I'm finding the thing un-drivable. As soon as I put the train brake to minimum application the brakes just come on very hard. The Traxx and Seven feel much more realistic.
Deadlost Posted January 30, 2023 Posted January 30, 2023 I have no real life knowledge about the Dragon other than that I can confirm the harsh braking on minimum brake application here as well. I work around this by tapping in and out of brake application.(and use dynamic brake as much as possible)
