Signaller House Features

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I have a great Idea.
Basically that you can make yourself a Coffe in the Dispatcher House or just be able to sit in the Seats.
Also, a great feature would be that you can open Windows!
Everything would give a more cozy and better atmosphere for Example Late Night dispatching.

Greetings, Felix

Actually just to add onto your thread of features I'm not sure those lamps at the desk really do much since I can see the phone buttons in the dark.  What would be cool for those lamps is to light up the non CTC board.  Also having a lamp (or night light on the exit door main light would help).

Reason I suggest this under improvements is becasue at night I like to have the lights off.  You can see the trains much better with the lights off at night.  Sometimes I'll keep a lamp on but they don't really do much.  But if it's pitch black and you want to leave good luck without the main lights.

Thanks

Sean

Watering plants, tending to an aquarium...but seriously, some duties outside of dispatching would be good at least on those small and remote stations where apsrt from dispatching there is little else to do. Supposedly those smaller stations are to be merged with bigger posts.

Maybe have a laptop in the signal box, and when the dispatcher has no trains to route for a while, get the virtual laptop out and play SimRail as a dispatcher in a busier box, or as a train driver whilst you wait the next train into your area 🤪

Simception! Now talking seriously, what I think is the most important is to have all basics behave as real as possible. Minor things like opening window and such, honestly I wouldn't even bother (at least not for now). BTW, when I get to play as a dispatcher, I'm normally seated already... So yeah. 😅

i don't play as dispatcher, but i can see how things like opening windows in the signal boxes could be cool to have,

we have them in the train cabs... and if they can get the sound attenuation things working so that opening the windows makes it a little louder in the cab, that would be good for the signal box too... you can hear the trains louder with the windows open... nad when the windows are closed, the sounds of the level crossing warnings could be quieter... i read some people don't like how loud that is in one of the signal boxes.

They could give us a game of Tetris, Pacman, or Space Invaders.  Maybee Angry Birds for those not as old as me.

Thanks

Sean

This is a stupid thing to put in a game simulator.

Wouldn't it be better to introduce irregular trains ,,Ad hoc,,
Or add trains to the timetable ?

Do I really have to put a smiley face after everything sarcastic  FFS!

I'm trying to actually get serious issues out there (not this crap) and I get more responses for stupid s*** like this.  Yet for the actual issues such as AI that I'm not sure is a duplicate, new, with all the detail and seriousnes included I hear crickets.

Perhaps I should take a step back from this playtest for a while.

Thanks

Sean

I'd go with actually useful things to interact with such as a train register, written orders and some instructions (Ir-1, how to operate the signalling equipment and local instructions so you have a realistic ingame manual) first.

Yet, being able to make a cup of coffee is a neat way to practice VR interactions and a wonderful gimmick.
