SafeShows Posted December 16, 2022 Posted December 16, 2022 Maybe don't show just one upcoming signal but two or three so we're able to plan our speed or if the next signal is on yellow show it on UI that it's yellow
Schyrsivochter Posted December 16, 2022 Posted December 16, 2022 The game already gives you more information than a real train driver would have. Like, if you’ve got a yellow light (‘expect stop’/‘caution’) then afterwards you don’t know whether the next signal has changed to allow passage until you can actually see that next signal. (Line speed restrictions, on the other hand, are reflected in the working timetable, so in reality you don’t have to drive solely by those signal signs.) 3

Gazz292 Posted December 16, 2022 Posted December 16, 2022 yup, the signals are all placed to give you more than enough braking distance to stop at a signal... of course the faster you go, the more attentive to the signals aspects you need to be. But there will always be an issue with train sims that you can not see as far into the distance as you can in real life... that's why there's a slider to make the signals glow artificially like a bright orb as you approach them from distance, This is set via the "Signal visibility enhancement level" in the 'simulation' tab of the options. i have mine set to 250%, Then it's just a case of learning the different signals and what they are saying to you. 1
Thistle Whistle Posted December 16, 2022 Posted December 16, 2022 Use the signals as intended and enjoy the experience. No need to treat the rails as a racetrack as all it means is you get to your stops quicker and your wait times are longer. 1
Gazz292 Posted December 16, 2022 Posted December 16, 2022 Talking about stops... something i like is that the station dwell time can alter, if you arrive early then you have to wait till your departure time of course, but if you are running late, you can get a nice short dwell time, i.e. sometimes about 15 seconds from stopping to being told to get on your way again. that's something always complained about in tsw, where you can be running 20 minutes late and still held in a station for the set 5 minutes or so. 1

Yes, it's a very nice touch and appreciated when running late. Just how it should be.
