Ricardo I. Posted March 23 Posted March 23 (edited) It appaers, that ETCS L1 is only giving partial clearance to automitic signals sometimes despite the track being clear. Server DE1. SimRail 2025-03-01 10-45-40.mp4 Edited March 23 by Ricardo I.

SIMRAIL Team Królik Uszasty Posted March 23 SIMRAIL Team Posted March 23 Not a bug, it's a feature. ETCS Level 1 is only converting signals into moving authority. 4-aspect automatic block signals gives you only information about (no) occupancy of 3 blocks ahead - when you pass S2 signal, there is assumption, that the sequence is S2->S3->S5->S1 as there is no difference with signal (green light) between S2->S2 and S2->S3. 3
Un4givenPG Posted Thursday at 01:32 PM Posted Thursday at 01:32 PM That's precisely why ETCS Lvl 1 is not meant for high-capacity lines (at least in Poland, where the implementation is mediocre - no radio infill etc.) and the MA is only created as @Królik Uszasty described. 1
Un4givenPG Posted Thursday at 01:44 PM Posted Thursday at 01:44 PM @Ricardo I. as your location is set for Germany - look at the "Erfurter Stern" - the first Level 2 (2.3.0d) implementation in Germany. They have decided to go with Level 2 exactly for this reason - capacity. In Austria, because of the low capacity of Level 1, they had to install EuroLoops (Those look like the LZB "cables" but transmit ETCS Packets) and Infill balises just to get the capacity up to the same level as LZB/PZB. In Italy the Radio Infill for ETCS Lvl 1 is used extensively for the same reason. 2
