01.11.2025 The next asset we're finishing up for you is a Czechoslovakian Skoda 163 series. Its design speed is 120 km/h and its distinguishing feature is a thyristor drive, which provides a unique sound experience. Besides the Czech Republic and Slovakia, the vehicle is also operated in Poland, where it previously pulled passenger trains and now primarily freight trains. For a locomotive manufactured in the 1980s, it still performs well, boasting features such as factory-installed cruise control.

31.10.2025 It’s time for the grand finale of our station sneak peek tour – Piotrków Trybunalski! This is the largest railway junction between Koluszki and Częstochowa, also providing access to the branch line leading towards the Bełchatów power plant. The northern part is dedicated to passenger services, with three platform tracks, while the southern part serves freight operations with fourteen tracks in total. What’s particularly interesting is that the station still uses pre-1970 light signals – for example, a double green meaning “clear route with reduced speed, next signal is clear.” And that concludes our tour through the stations of our second scenery DLC! 24.10.2025 Let’s continue south from Rokiciny to Baby station. It’s another intermediate stop along this line, known for the tragic derailment of 2011, which resulted in two fatalities and eighty injuries. As in the previous case, the platforms at Baby are located beyond the five station tracks, in the direction of Piotrków Trybunalski.

24.10.2025 We’ve already covered the Łódź area… but that’s not the end of the sneak peeks for the upcoming DLC! Today we’re heading south from Koluszki, along line no. 1, to Rokiciny station. It features four active tracks that allow train overtaking, and two platforms located directly on the main line, beyond the station’s sidings.

10.10.2025 It’s time for the second-largest station in the Łódź area – Łódź Kaliska. Opened in the beginning of XX century, this station serves as a major junction, connecting routes from the north (Zgierz), west (Retkinia), and southeast (Chojny). The station can be divided into three parts: Northern section: a stabling area for rolling stock and train carriages, with multiple sidings used for parking and maintenance., Central section: the passenger area, featuring five platforms divided into two directional groups., Southern section: a freight area with a junction triangle leading toward Retkinia., Over the past 30 years, the entire station has undergone several modernization projects, resulting in higher speed limits on turnouts and a few quite scenic railway bridges.

05.10.2025 It’s time to visit an intermediate stop on the western ring line of Łódź – Łódź Żabieniec. The southern part of the station looks like a simple passenger stop, while the northern section features six main tracks and several additional ones serving the nearby industrial district and the combined heat and power plant. The future of this station may be even more exciting: once the new underground cross-city line is completed, Łódź Żabieniec will become the exit point for trains heading north from the tunnel.

26.07.2025 Welcome to the northern railway junction of the Łódź metropolitan area – Zgierz. This station serves both regional and long-distance traffic, acting as an interchange between two lines: Line 15 from Łowicz (single-track) to Łódź Kaliska (double-track) Line 16 from Kutno to Łódź Widzew (both single-track) The station has three platforms and six tracks, used by trains running towards Łódź, Kutno, Łowicz, Łęczyca, and Toruń. In recent years, Zgierz has grown in importance thanks to infrastructure modernization and the increasing number of metropolitan connections linking the city with Łódź and other towns in the Łódź Voivodeship.

19.09.2025 Let’s go back to Łódź and visit Łódź Marysin, a station located northwest of Widzew. It is a stop on the single-track section of line 16 between Łódź Widzew and Zgierz, also serving as a passing loop. The station stands next to the historic Radegast, from which thousands of people imprisoned in the Litzmannstadt Ghetto were deported during World War II to Chełmno and later to Auschwitz-Birkenau. Its current name, restored in 2014, refers to the former suburban settlement of Marysin. Right next to it, you will also find the Łódź Warszawska stop, from which you can enter Arturówek and Łagiewnicki Forest from the south.
