Saving settings

I would really really like to save the HUD settings. Every time I start the game I have to set everything up again, very annoying. It would be nice to split the settings of the displayed and hidden HUD more, but that's already been addressed. Track IR settings are also not saved and I have to turn the feature on every time I start (I only play with Track IR).

sounds like you have 'settings.CONF' file set to read only?    people usually do this to stop their modifications to draw distances being set back to stock every time they open the menu, but this also means that updates that change / add new items to that file do not happen, and any changes you make in the menu wont be saved for next time.

 

The 'settings.CONF' file is where it stores your preferences for HUD items, use TrackIr or not and so on.

C:\Users\%username%\AppData\LocalLow\SimKol\SimRail\settings.conf

Here's part of mine, i have TrackIr always on, and all Hud items off except the notifications one... thats the pop out messages top right of the screen telling me i'm being penalised for speeding etc.

I have the file in its default state (editable). Track IR is always on in my settings, but when I start the game sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. I always have to turn Track IR off and on for it to work. As for the HUD settings, it just doesn't save. When I start the game it is still in default.
