1. Make sure you're in cabin A. open flap on the left side of control board and turn up battery switch.1.thumb.jpg.c1165e98d25a50fb12fcc3675a936383.jpg

2. Battery voltmeter will read approximately 90V. SHP (automatic safety brake device) test will activate. To apply, you have to turn direction lever to forward or backward position and press vigilance button.2.thumb.jpg.9af318ef31253d95d47c6f314dcb567f.jpg

3. Turn cabin activation key right.3.thumb.jpg.aed0945738f01846ec9f36a3800df278.jpg

4. Turning off batteries activates differential relay. Hold unlock button until signal light go off. If it doesn't work, make sure that drive control wheel and shunt regulator lever are both in zero position.

5. Raise pantographs. Wait for voltage of about 3 kV to appear on voltmeter.

6. Close main switch. If it doesn't work, make sure that none of overload relays is active and that pressure in main tank is above 0.35 MPa.

7. Turn on converter. Wait for charging current to stabilise.7.thumb.jpg.7de6c7b1d4b9ea43a3ac45d55b03cf85.jpg

8. Turn on compressor. Wait for main tank to fill up. Watch right manometer..

9. Turn on radio and select desired channel.9.thumb.jpg.38e25c8a0d2547130c7225ae328c42d0.jpg

10. Set service brake lever to running or fill position. Hold releaser button until pressure in main pipe reaches 0.5 MPa. Watch the middle manometer.

11.  Make sure that parking brakes in both cabins are released. In the window you should see yellow shield with a word "LUZ".

12. Release local brake. Wait for pressure in cylinders to drop to 0 MPa.

13. Turn drive control wheel to FIRST position. Wait for line brakers to close (blue signal lamp will turn off) and closing of starting circuits (orange signal lamp will turn on and current will appear on amperemeter).

14. Work your way through the starter resistance positions as quickly as possible, trying to drive on positions 0, 28 i 43. Then whole current passes through traction engines. Watch out amperometers, to not exceed 600 A. On not-resistance positions you can increase speed by lowering engine field using shunting handle.

15. To brake, turn both controll wheel and shunting handle to zero and pull service brake handle towards you. Drop 0.05-0.2 MPa from main pipe depending on desired braking force. Watch the middle manometer. Left one shows only pressure in brake cylinders of locomotive.15.thumb.jpg.0fde9de28c03ec52805ee02b7a6e639d.jpg

Popular malfunctions

1. Alerter/SHP engaged. Press vigilance button. If both systems activated at the same time, you have to press it twice. With lack of reaction for visual and sound warning, emergency brakes engage. If pressure in main pipe managed to drop below 0.35 MPa, you have to set service brake handle to running or fill position and hold releaser button until pressure rises to 0.5 MPa.

2. Traction motors overload relay engaged. If current exceeds 600 A, overload relay engages. Set control wheel and shunting handle to zero. Press unlock traction motors overload relay button. Red signal light will turn off.

3. Compressor overload relay engaged. This relay engages when you turn on compressor before converter power stabilises. Turn off compressor and converter. Unlock compressor overload relay. Turn on converter. Wait for it to reach stable speed. Turn on Compressor.

Is there any suggestions/knowledge about correct radio channels on the EU07? I get dinged on it, but haven't on any other locomotive. It just tells me I'm on the wrong channel, and where it's meant to show the correct one, blank.

Just something silly here, i imagine most people would not get into this situation.

I believe there is an auxiliary compressor which runs off the battery, but it is not yet modeled on this train  ???

When i was stuck in a 'traffic jam' that i knew i would not move again, i played about deliberately running the air tanks down, i'd turned the compressor off and kept applying and releasing the brakes to waste air.

Once the main pressure hit 3.5MPa the pantograph dropped, which meant i lost converter power,
so the main compressor could no longer run when i turned it back on (it runs on 110 volts but from the converter not the battery... or there is an interlock / contactor that only allows the main compressor to run when the converter is running)

It was now checkmate, i couldn't build up air to raise the pantograph and get the converter back online, to run the main compressor etc.
