sf_giants15
It gets very confusing when talking on the phone with the nearby station and at the same time an other station is talking to a train driver over the voice chat. You cant understand anything when 3 people talk at the sametime. My suggestion would be to mute or at least lower the volume of the general voice chat when on the phone in dispatcher mode. 1
MasterFranky
Well thats sort of the life of dispatch who talk on the phone and have to answer radio traffic at the same time. Its just multitasking and if you dont understand someone you ask to repeat or put them on hold. The dispatch center i work in (not train related) have one ear with headset handling radio and you have handheld phone in the other ear all the while coworkers talking in the background. Not ideal to mute radio traffic especially if there is some "emergency" to occur that needs to be handled.
Kaito Kid
Maybe not mute but the option to regulate the volume in general chat for these kind of situations? IRL you can regulate the volume of the communications. 4 hours ago, MasterFranky said: Well thats sort of the life of dispatch who talk on the phone and have to answer radio traffic at the same time.
