alvarossbcn
Hello guys! 🚄 I open this thread in case it happens to someone else and we can know the cause of this, and if possible, fix it in the best way. I have a small problem in the simulator, since I can reach 50 FPS, but as you can see in the video, a small drop in the image fluency is observed continuously, as if it were getting stuck 😖 In the video, the FPS drops much more than reality, but you can get an idea of what happens. If someone is so kind as to be able to help me and also help whoever happens to it, I would really appreciate it. Greetings to all and good service in the game 😄 1284368102_SimRail2023-01-2916-39-22.mp4 Edited January 29, 2023 by alvarossbcn
hoppturee-
I am also having this issue with a 5950X and 3090, although at 75-90 FPS. The image just doesn't look fluid (screen is 60Hz).
Bescot
Same here. Tried on two different machines. One is a Ryzen 7-3600X/RTX3060ti and the other is i9-12900k/RTX3080ti. Both have steady high frame rates (60 or 144fps on a g-sync monitor) but as I drive the scenery isn't fluid. TheShotte
I've been noticing something similar, except also about a 20% performance drop with latest patch. I'm hoping some sort of update-patch will sort this out.
Gazz292
i've noticed this too, i can get about 50 to 60 fps easily on my laptop using the ultra settings in SimRails graphics menu (running auto power mode on the laptop, where the rtx3070Ti is running about 120 watts... it'll run at 155 watts in power mode... but i only get maybe 7 fps more then, and it's like sitting ontop of a fan heater... and in quiet mode it pulls ~70 watts, but i get 17 fps) But lately it just does not seem as smooth as it used to be, it's more like a certain train game i gave up on last year, where i used to get about 20 fps in stations (on the same laptop!)

I did have DLSS on ultra before the patch but ended up having to put it on balanced mode after due to a fairly big fps drop in the 3060ti@4k - 60fps down to around 45fps. Is DLSS scaled differently now?
alvarossbcn
Hello! I hope you are having a great week! If someone knows how to fix it, or any developer wants to explain why this happens, it would be great and it would be of great help to us to be able to enjoy the game 100% ☺️
TheShotte
Ok, so I'm not sure how well-aware are you guys, but there is an ongoing issue with the passengers. At the moment, servers are experiencing terrible performance issues/lag, and I think this is what's affecting our FPS as well, because last night I played an SP scenario, and it was butter smooth like before.

Could be. Then we will wait for them to fix it. I think we also help the developers of the simulator so that they can see the bugs that the community is experiencing 💪🏻☺️ Thanks you! 🙏🏻😌

Bescot
Well, I don't think the fix worked for some of us, we've discussed it on the discord server. This only seemed to have got worse since the last patch (or one before?) 60+ fps, but micro stutters constantly - It doesn't matter what resolution or game graphics are chosen, it persists. Here's a vid from my Ryzen 7 3700X 8-Core 3.60 GHz, 3060ti, 16GB RAM, latest Geforce drivers, all Win 11 updates. 4K resolution in this test, but 1440 does the same. https://streamable.com/cw2z6i
