Blt950 Posted January 22, 2023 Posted January 22, 2023 Hi, If I stream on Discord while playing SimRail, after a while all voice from Discord disappears. If I restart Discord while the game is running, or wait a while, the game crashes. This seems to happen regardless of scenery or vehicle, also happens on 21.01.2023 update. I'm running W11 on the newest version and have my graphic drivers updated. I doubt this a Discord issue, as this only happens with SimRail, no other game. I've another friend with the exact same issue as well, so seems to affect more people. SimRail_log_2023-01-22_22-13-43.txt
TheShotte Posted January 23, 2023 Posted January 23, 2023 What are your specs? I've been having similar problems with Discord, and none of them whilst playing SimRail. Essentially, what happens is, at random times, me or my friends just go deaf. No other members of the channel will be able to hear them, and they won't be able to hear anyone else. The affected person has to disconnect and reconnect to the channel. Another one is - trying to stream a game (again, not SimRail, in this case, Escape from Tarkov) and the stream video just keeps freezing. You change the window size, and it resumes/works for a few seconds, then freezes again. Just a bunch of weird, weird stuff. Man, software quality has gone down the drain in recent years. Stuff used to work. Now, everything has memory leaks and barely does.
Blt950 Posted January 23, 2023 Author Posted January 23, 2023 Interesting! Your description of the issue is exactly the same as I have. Though in my case the game crashes if I restart Discord. I got a friend suggesting to turn off hardware acceleration in streams, I haven't tested it yet but it helped for him. Though that's more a workaround rather than a fix.
