Gazz292 Posted January 13, 2023 Posted January 13, 2023 Now that there's a lot more train to chose from, the list of available trains to drive is pretty long, i like to drive the EU07 99% of the time but these trains will be at both the top and bottom of the list depending on the direction they are going in. Wonder if another selection box like we have to select 'passenger' 'cargo' 'special' train types could allow us to select to see only the services that are run by a certain train type. 9
Niinox Posted January 14, 2023 Posted January 14, 2023 To expand upon this. It would be a really big help to be able to sort by departure and destination (ex. Select departure, show a list of possible destinations). Not only would it allow people to learn the respective routes for the services, but it would make it a whole lot easier to avoid getting into a service that's going the wrong way or that you're not after. As well, it would provide a simple way to know which train is most recently departed (given we already have a 'time left' countdown). Unless we get detailed path maps, I feel like this would be a huge help for just trying to get a handle on the absolute scale of the map and diverging paths in the southern half. 3
Gazz292 Posted January 14, 2023 Author Posted January 14, 2023 Yes, that would be nice, as i drive mostly services hauled by the EU07, in the playtest i was used to looking for the first 2 digits, i think if it was 41xxx, it went north to south, if it was 14xxx it was going south to north, But there is a lot more to the train codes, apparently the first digit is the destination, the 2nd digit is about where it branches off along the way etc, Maybe someone needs to make a PKP service number decoder... or tell us on the selection screen a little more info, would be really nice to have roughly where abouts the train is that you will be joining, and how many stops are left etc. I want a loco hauled service that stops at the most stations, rather than one that is going to do 100km with no stops at all, but atm it's a guess for me to find these.
SIMRAIL Team GoppelPL Posted January 15, 2023 SIMRAIL Team Posted January 15, 2023 The first digit in the train number is its origin, and the second one is the destination. The numbers are (as on the map): 1 - Warszawa 2 - Lublin 3 - Kraków 4 - Katowice 5 - Gdańsk (should be Gdynia) 6 - Wrocław 7 - Poznań 8 - Szczecin 9 and 0 are supplimentary numbers, there are so many trains in Warsaw and Katowice regions that they need to be numbered 19xxx, 40xxx, 91xxx, 99xxx or 90xxx. Any train going from Warsaw to Katowice will be numbered 14xx, and the opposite way would be 41xx. The more digits, the slower the train is - 1401 is the Express Intercity train, the 14111 is a regular intercity train with more stops, 40666 is a commuter train in the Katowice region (look, the number is higher and the priority drops!), and 245023 is a cargo train. This should give you some help for now, I think it would be the best to post info about the train route in its description. 1 6
MalzbierMan Posted January 15, 2023 Posted January 15, 2023 (edited) I'd also go with some futher information about the service (e.g. train length, weight and maximum speed) and its current location. Edited January 16, 2023 by MalzbierMan

Wow, thankyou very much, i had been looking online to see how the numbering worked but was just getting more and more confused, Simply knowing that for the types of train i like to drive... passenger with lots of stops (so i can practice my braking into a station more) i want a train with a high number. 1
