Skully Posted January 2, 2023 Posted January 2, 2023 As I took over the 24129 it was riding extremely late and I tried to do my best to make up for it. I thought the ride down south had a speed limit of 125 km/h but it kept showing 120 km/h. Passing the 644034 as I raced to Zawiercie. And thus I was making up time as I rolled through Łazy station... Onto ... The goods line!? Which has a 20 km/h limit to boot... oh well. 3

I believe those particular coaches are limited to 120 km/h, making the speed of the train lower than what the EU07 is capable of. When you run an IC service the coaches are limited to 160 km/h but the speed of the train is 125 km/h as that is the limit of the EU07. Look for the symbol below side of the coaches, it will tell you the maximum allowed speed for that particular coach. The lowest speed "found" in a consist applies to the whole train. Bescot Posted January 2, 2023 Posted January 2, 2023 I posted something similar in the bugs section but that hasn't been approved. The Łazy dispatch seems to forget your a passenger train and puts you on the towary tracks. At least Zawiercie has a bit more sense sometimes, and puts you back on your rightful track.

A general question: Do we know if the AI prioritizes trains that are "on time" over delayed trains? Edited January 2, 2023 by DiscoBreak 2
SurvivorSean Posted January 2, 2023 Posted January 2, 2023 So everyone including the AI and apparently the developers like creative dispatching? I take it this was an AI that did this and not rookie night? Thanks Sean
Skully Posted January 2, 2023 Author Posted January 2, 2023 @SurvivorSean Yes, this was Łazy station AI. @DiscoBreak I would assume late trains get prioritized, not? And yeah, 120 km/h coaches.

In the "real world," it's usually the opposite. Through my earlier work as a conductor, I've, unfortunately, more than once experienced how a small delay, let's say 3 minutes, easily can result in a final delay of up to 30-40 minutes. All thanks to the prioritization of trains not being delayed. Also, some trains have higher prioritization the others, high-speed trains> freight trains for example (with exceptions). That's why I'm curious to know how this is simulated with the AI as I suspect the might be one of the reasons for the AI dispatcher behaving as it does when trains are running late.
okles92 Posted January 2, 2023 Posted January 2, 2023 @Skully I've also came across such situation that I was driving EC 20 mins ahead of schedule in Zawiercie but thanks to Łazy AI I've ended up being 18 mins late in Katowice. It was taking me onto slow lines, letting cargo train overtake me (which I've then overtaken back in Sosnowiec) or putting me behind the stopping KŚ train.
