kolyokcica Posted December 31, 2022 Posted December 31, 2022 At Sosnowiec I tryed to send one train 644040 to test invalid direction function. First, the interlocking feedbeck to this train route is ok and will be set, then route store line set and the block state going to blocked. Then I cant see any warning, just the stored route revoked and the line block still be in blocked state. The start signal never was in authorized state. The blocking check may be at wrong phase, it may be before start "route storeing line" setting. I think, the blocking function is totally wrong way, because we lost the real simulation nature. The cause of original problem is the incompetent-newbie interlocking operators. A warning message with tone may be enough for warning the operator (in this case operator can be set a signal stop and revoke route), then after the train leave the interlocking area to wrong direction, apply a massive point deduction. Skully Posted January 1, 2023 Posted January 1, 2023 The root cause is the incapability for the AI to deal with badly routed trains. Your proposal will again leave badly routed trains in stations. I do agree that the current warning is limiting the simulation. It feels like auto-braking the train when facing a speed restriction. So like you say a points penalty might be better. As for the AI trains they should always default to moving forward. 😁
kolyokcica Posted January 2, 2023 Author Posted January 2, 2023 (edited) OK, i understand your standpoint, but please think about; the original problem is the incompetent-newbie interlocking operators. I think, at the release version of the game, before someone cold be an online dispatcher, must sucessfull finish some offline dispatcher scenarios, for example line block direction changes, timetable tests etc. I think, this simulation will be greater with shunt routes and without blocked routes 🙂 I think, it's already the best railway simulator, i like just more realistic a bit in dispatcher mode, for example ISDR 🙂 Oh and one more think; at the aviation simulations (MSFS etc) with online multiplayer, the players must take a massive exam before be an online air traffic dispatcher (for example VATSIM). Kaito Kid Posted January 2, 2023 Posted January 2, 2023 I agree that it's starting to be a pain, I was trying to sort trains quickly and couldn't open a signal that wasn't affecting the direction of the train that was standing at that track, as it was moving away from it, despite this, I had to wait for the train to fully leave that track to be able to open the signal/route. Isn't there any option to apply this only to the IA? Or was this made to prevent trolls/newbies from sending trains on wrong routes? BTW it's not related, some some updates ago, I was able to do signal to signal in Dabrowa Gornizca and Katowice with te level crossings being open and once finished doing the route, it would automatically close the level crossings and open the signals... Whatever happened to that.
Skully Posted January 3, 2023 Posted January 3, 2023 I would love to see this get to the same level of detail as ISDR and not turn into a TSW arcade button presser. But as long as we do not have the proper tools to unclog dispatcher mistakes we regrettably have to live with system rules blocking certain actions. As for system rules terminating opposite direction routes that might be a bit too drastic. There is no need to get penalized for this. And yes, this is to allow newbies to join the fun and block the trolls. PS.

BTW, maybe report the level crossings barriers in bugs in MP? Edited January 3, 2023 by Kaito Kid 1
