Lactic Posted December 30, 2022 Posted December 30, 2022 (edited) On the radio, we can call ZEW 1 to 3 but what does it mean ? Is the ZEW 1 the previous station, ZEW 2 the current station and ZEW 3 the next station ? ZEW : Dispatchers Edited December 30, 2022 by Lactic 3
Aero1995 Posted December 30, 2022 Posted December 30, 2022 I don't know exactly but I think you can set different frequencies on it.

SIMRAIL Team Solution GoppelPL Posted December 30, 2022 SIMRAIL Team Solution Posted December 30, 2022 The radios have a "do not disturb" mode you can turn on ie. when you have a layover. The ZEW buttons call all the radios, and unmute those in the DnD mode for the duration of one transmission. ZEW1 calls all of the driver radios, ZEW3 calls all of the dispatcher radios - they hear a beep and for example "Train on track 10 respond to Katowice" - then if you pick up the microphone the DnD mode turns off, and if you don't you won't hear anything until someone decides to push ZEW1 to call all drivers. The ZEW2 was used to call all the drivers driving in even direction, leaving ZEW1 for those heading odd direction, but it was discontinued a long time ago. 3 2

Oh thank you for your quick and accurate answer Goppel 🙂 So I was thinking to use your description in the translation files for a better explanation to simply ZEW 1, 2 or 3. What do you think of : ZEW 1 : Call all the drivers (on the same channel ?) ZEW 2 : Call all the drivers ZEW 3 : Call all the dispatchers (on the same channel ?)

SIMRAIL Team GoppelPL Posted December 30, 2022 SIMRAIL Team Posted December 30, 2022 The ZEW sounds are played on the same channel as your voice, so yes, it triggers all the dispatcher radios or driver radios on the channel. 1

I've not heard any ZEW tones over a broadcast. Does it do anything yet? 2
robert357 - W7 FTW Posted December 30, 2022 Posted December 30, 2022 ZEW2 is only in Radmor radiotelephone in EU07. In Koliber there are only ZEW1 and ZEW3. The biggest issue with in-game Radmor is that tooltip in tutorial that lit up all ZEW buttons where in Koliber it will only lit up ZEW3.
Gazz292 Posted December 30, 2022 Posted December 30, 2022 Is the DnD button the blue/gray one to the right of the main power button... on the radio in the EU07? On that same radio, there are 3 rotary knobs, left hand one is the Chanel selector, middle one i think is volume? and that right hand one clicks between 3 positions, but i havent worked out what that's for. I think it says 'Nasłuch' below that 3 position knob.. that translates to 'listening' Could the 'Nasłuch' knob be volume? 3 settings, low, mid and loud, And the middle know is squelch?
SIMRAIL Team GoppelPL Posted December 30, 2022 SIMRAIL Team Posted December 30, 2022 I believe you need to reverse the microphone (put it into the holding place with mouthpiece facing the radio, and not the driver) to put the old Radmor radio into the DnD mode, which is actually called "Nasłuch" in the new, Koliber one. 1
