giBBer8
I'm a driver and your level crossing bells are bad atm. I really appreciate the doppler effect you included, but from a loco cab, the sound is literally a second at 100 kmh, and about 2 seconds "either side of the doppler effect" at 60 km/h, with the loudest and most correct in the mid-point of course. This also depends on window open / closed, power on, power off (loco or in cab noise) etc. The sounds of the electric locos powering up from a station stop...wow
Gazz292
i always question if we as the train driver should be hearing level crossing warblers / sirens / gongs / bells at all unless we were stopped before one when it started it's cycle. usually the sounders stop playing once the barriers are lowered and the crossing secured, they are a warning for the car drivers that the road is about to be closed. robert357 - W7 FTW
I'll said it again. In Poland bells rings until front of the train passed crossing or it's nearby. And yes, it would be nice to have more muffled sounds inside the cabin.

Isambard Kingdom Brunel
Sounds have too wide a radius. Can be heard from too far out and go on too long in the cab, after traversing the crossing.
SIMRAIL Team Stele Posted December 27, 2022 SIMRAIL Team Share Posted December 27, 2022 I'm gonna cut their distance by half. Also moved them from general>effects to general>environment category. Should be muffled by by train cabin now.
SIMRAIL Team Stele Posted December 27, 2022 SIMRAIL Team Share Posted December 27, 2022 Nah, won't do. Attenuation system only reacts to player audio category, that seems like sources meant to be attached to the camera. So only distance correction for now unless I will be able to understand that code and fix it without braking anything.
Gazz292
Thankyou for trying to figure things like this out, Sounds always seem to be one the the hardest things to get right for a simulator, it seems like the game engines used never have the right controls in them for driving based games / sims. SIMRAIL Team Stele Posted December 27, 2022 SIMRAIL Team Share Posted December 27, 2022 Game engines at least have documentation. That is just bunch of custom spaghetti code. 😄 1
Jasonic
I think these level crossing bells should not be heard in the cab for such a distance, it just doesn’t seem realistic.
