lDestinyl
I hope this hasn't been here before, but I'd like to bring up the idea of shunting in multiplayer. For example: you get to the end of the line and put the train on a siding. Then some shunter would uncouple the cars from the locomotive and set them aside, etc. and would be driven by a dispacher of course. I might put a shunter on each larger platform if something goes wrong (some random situation, like a malfunction on the loco). Just wondering if you have considered something like this and if it is even possible. It's clear to me that the priority now is on MP functionality and game release. This is more of an idea for the future.
Gazz292
I've had a nose around the files of the simulator, And in the SimRailPlaytest/SimRail_Data/StreamingAssets/Locals/Gui folder on the computer is a set of different language files, they are i believe the on-screen 'tool tips' you get when you hover over say a switch in the cab, and you get a popup that tells you what it's for, and maybe an option to do something... like when you click on the cab door and you can open it, close it, or climb out. i opened the .Lang file in a text editor, and read that there are entries relating to coupling operations: Connect Coupler Connect Brake Hose Disconnect Pneumatic Hose Connect Electrical Host Screw Coupler Scharfenberg coupler..... And so on..... I know coupling functions are disabled in the playtest, so when you get close enough to a coupler for it to glow yellow meaning you can interact with it, clicking on it gets you only on option... 'Close' which closes the tool tip.
robert357 - W7 FTW
These are not disabled. You can mess with it in single player since Prologue demo.
lDestinyl
I've heard in a post from the warriors that the shunt can't momentarily AI. But that doesn't prevent this option from being granted to players. 😉
