Bescot Posted December 23, 2022 Posted December 23, 2022 It would be cool if AI trains sounded the horn at the W6 and W6a whistle signs. 3
SurvivorSean Posted December 23, 2022 Posted December 23, 2022 Honestly I didn't know you were supposed to sound a horn at those 🙂 In North America they have whistle posts but here I never know when to use it and just sound it when I approach a road or platform. Thanks Sean
Bescot Posted December 23, 2022 Author Posted December 23, 2022 (edited) I learned today Sean 1. The triangular signs which are either blank or have a car in them, are whistle boards. 2. You only sound the horn at the 'doubled up' signs with cars on them. 3. Blank triangular signs are places you must sound the horn for various other reasons. Previously Polish rules said to sound the horn at all signs with cars but now just the doubled up car ones. Single car signs are protected by a gate, barrier or crossing lights. So tldr Blow horn at triangular 'double car' signs and the blank signs. 😅 Edited December 23, 2022 by Bescot I can't type on mobile 1 2
Gazz292 Posted December 23, 2022 Posted December 23, 2022 (edited) i've driven through a crossing that had the barriers open, and as soon as i entered the crossing the HUD speed dropped to 20Km/h, and i realised i must have missed the 2 amber horizontal signal lights that told me the crossing was not secured... which was an OSP1 signal : The procedure is to do no more than 20km/h when the nose of your train enters the crossing, not sure if you should sound your horn as you approach a crossing with the amber lights like this, or when you can speed up again... i'm sure the 20Km/h speed limit in the HUD went back to the normal speed once the cab of the train was over the crossing.? If the lights are not lit, or they show : Then the crossing is secured, and you go through at normal speed. Edited December 23, 2022 by Gazz292 pics didnt load 3
TheShotte Posted December 27, 2022 Posted December 27, 2022 Some good information here. I wish someone grabbed some screenshots of those "whistle" boards or maybe found an existing guide or something. Would really like to know what they look like. There are a couple spots on the line where you get points deducted for not sounding horn. I've memorized the spots, but I don't know which is the actual dang board. I will be on the lookout for a triangular board with a car in it and something double... 🥴
SurvivorSean Posted December 28, 2022 Posted December 28, 2022 Hell I even miss signals unless the boxes are screwing with me like this afternoon. I find it a challenge just to keep the speed up as best as possible without the cruise in the wheelmobile (though I enjoy this the most). Thanks Sean

W6, W6a, and W7 are the ones you are looking for 🙂 http://jareks.zonk.pl/signal/signs.htm http://pkprepo.net/railway-signs-of-polish-railways/ http://grzegorz.jagodzinski.prv.pl/kolej/signals.html 1

That is the one you will lose points at if you do not blow the horn as you pass it. Edited December 28, 2022 by Gazz292 1 1
