Transparency now could reduce reputation damage to the game later

Disclaimer this is speculative.

Of course I dont know where the development of this game stands right now maybe everything is still going to plan, but with the singleplayer playtest release basically only adding what the prolouge already gave us, it feels a bit rushed to me. i wonder if the developers are already under pressure, maybe the multiplayer bugs need more time to be fixed than expected. I dont mind waiting longer but communicating a possible delay early might significantly reduce the backlash from more impatient players. So if they can already see that the early access release date is going to be missed i would want to kindly suggest telling the player base as early as possible, because a dealy is no issue in it self but if communicated on the day of planned release might cause some unnesscary anger. Anyways thank you developers for all your hard work, this game is already so much fun, but please dont rush it just to hold the release date. I personally think being transparent would be the better option than releasing it in a state that overly frustrates players (even though some issues should be expected in early access), still major issues that could be fixed in a month or two might permanently harm the reputation of the game more than a slight delay. Thanks for considering

This is a very fair constructive concern.  I think they are going to release it or they will postpone it being an early release.  I'm not sure what delays they had in the past but I heard they had some and what was communicated.  It's an interesting point considering the update came the morning after a roadmap (which is a guide of course) was going for.  I think it will be worthy of an early access game but I'll have to see the single player once it finishes downloading and I come home after work tonight.  Either way I'm very happy of the progress and status of the current sim.

Thanks

Sean
