Bescot
In the same way as you added a shift modifier to the EU07 to jump 0-28-43 notch could you please do the same to set the combined power/brake controller in the Traxx and Elf to zero? It can be tricky to go from power > zero > dynamic brake due to the 'indent' at notch 0 - sometimes I end up accidently going into 100% brake on the Traxx. I'll love you even more if you can do this 😄
SurvivorSean
Yeah I tend to do that quite a bit which is why I gave up on it for now. Hoping the tutorial will help explain it more or I might just use the mouse. Thanks Sean
Gazz292
My favorite way to operate the ELF / traxx's control levers is to use the mouses scroll wheel. Hold left click on the lever in the cab (the pop up helper box will apear that shows you what notch it is in, to help when dragging with the mouse) but instead of dragging the lever with the mouse: You can move the lever by rolling the scroll wheel. Usually one click on the scroll wheel moves the lever one notch forwards or backwards, so it is a bit like having a mini lever in your hand from the way it moves with the scroll wheel (assuming you have a notched scroll wheel that moves in indents, and not a smooth one that some gaming mice have) i even set up autohotkey to have a keyboard button i can hold down that is the same as left click on the mouse, so my left hand is over the left shift key that i use for czuark / SHP reset, and the '\' (backslash) key is my 'extra' left mouse click key, so i can have it held down and still reset the alerter without taking my hands off the mouse or keyboard. I've yet to figure out how to set this autohotkey thing up so it's only active when SimRail is active, it's script based, so you can do pretty much anything with it, if you know how to write code, but i've never needed to use the blackslash key yet, and a simple click turns the autohotkey thing off if i do need it (actually i did need to do that to type the symbol above 🤔)

SurvivorSean
Yeah I got the keyboard throttle to work nicely as is once I figured out the mechanic of how to get there. I usually keep the mouse highligted over it until it gets out of the range. But for the most part I know what it's doing now based on the way it behaves. It's certainly a very challenging activity. It looks as though the AI systems have no bearing on the tuturoials at this point since it appears to be totally scripted. If others are like that I'll stick to my MP and hopefully they'll nail some of the issues in it. Just before 9pm all the servers appeared to be locked up with trains no on the schedule and the AI having no place to send them. Can't wait until that measure eliminates that crap.
